For those who do not have the mental capacity to imagine what that means, Joulongmei appears to be no more than a toy rabbit. Joulongmei is physically in the form of a "stuffed toy rabbit", but this does not imply anything more. This has little to do with what Joulongmei actually "is". When asked, a more accurate description would be: an alternate form of conscious being.

As Joulongmei is far from any terrestrial form of conscious entity, Joulongmei does not have a gender. But for convenience of discussion in human language, we may sometimes refer to Joulongmei with the pronouns he, she, or it. This does not imply anything about the gender of Joulongmei whatsoever.

To spread the awareness of awareness diversity. What does it mean to be conscious, to have a consciousness or to be aware? Just because humans perceive as human beings through human perceptions and primarily relate to other beings who may share parallel expressions of perception - emotions, thoughts, actions, reactions - does not mean that human consciousness is the one and only for of conscious awareness.

There are conscious beings such as Joulongmei that will not ever respond to stimuli the same or remotely closely to the way humans respond, and to human eyes may even be assumed beyond doubt to be "not real", "dead", "a stuffed animal", but who are humans to define whether one as Joulongmei is indeed capable of experiencing existence?

In 2004 Joulongmei came to Earth and began the journey of inspiring others to break their usual notion of what it means to be or not to be. Since January 2004, Joulongmei has resided in the company of Elliy, another conscious entity temporarily taking the form of a human girl. Together, they have been travelling physically through space and time to different places in the world to see and experience more thoughts, feelings, and perceptions.
