About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love the idea of travelling in a meaningful way, to meet real people on the journey, to share what is most important in life. I am an enthusiastic long-distance walker and have walked across Europe on my own, which I feel is the best way to meet people.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Germany and came to live in Britain from the age of 23. I love my adopted country very much, particularly because of the freedom of walking in the countryside.
I am married and have three wonderful adult children who all have caught the travel bug, as well as a beautiful little granddaughter.
I work as an art therapist in a GP practise. Through this work I accompany people on their inner journey through crisis or illness, with the medium of visual art.
Walking is a spiritual practise for me. I walk every day for an hour and a half before breakfast, mostly with my husband, and at weekends I try to fit in at least one whole day of walking. In my holidays I do long-distance walks, always linking up with where I stopped off before.
I love meeting people of all ages and cultures and would like to do this via both hosting and travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

Every human being is unique, and I like to live my life in such a way that I honour this both in myself and others.
I am on an inner journey as well as an outer one. I am very interested in change and development.
My source of inspiration is Spiritual Science known as Anthroposophy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot of Steiner books both for my work and personal interest.
Travel books, fairy tales and myths, good novels, biographies.
I love clasical music and world music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I undertook a pilgrimage on foot from Stroud, where I live, to a castle in the Tschech Republic near Prague. I went on my own and I experienced this as a life-changing event to such an extend that I divide my life into "before" and "after". I have written a book about this experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I run experiential art classes with the firm belief that anyone is an artist!
I'd love to learn singing, have recently joined a choir. I feel that music has this amazing potential to reach beyond the verbal (like visual art of course as well).
