About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Breathe creatively, laugh loudly, and absorb everything!

ABOUT ME

I think I'm an easy-going spirit with a poetic soul. Currently i'm a recruiter for a marketing company...basically convince people that their life would be better working with me! One part empathy, one part passion, one part narcissism! I'm very friendly, naive, and sarcastic. Friendly first though! My parents are Nigerian but my 3 siblings and I were born in Houston, Texas. I'm always late but I'm working on it. I love new experiences, the color yellow, turtles, and vintage! I also love to laugh, take bubble baths, and cuddle. I've found that I'm not very good at re-telling jokes... I always crack up hysterically before the punchline. This tends to annoy people. I recently got married. I love Indian and Italian food. I don't smoke anymore...but I don't smoke any less either (*high 5* lol)! I love cheese, eggs, cereal, and sushi. I'm a bit of a loner but only because I've found I'm extremely good at entertaining myself! I love the innocence and wide-eyed sincerity of children... always wish I was still a kid again! Oh and I collect records and buttons. Well I think thats a great summary if I do say so myself!

I think the root to all evil is selfishness.

PHILOSOPHY

If I have nothing that alarms me then I grow alarmed by this condition. There must be something of which I am ignorant at this time that is about to destroy me.
-Arthur Schopenhauer

To succeed in life you need two things; ignorance and confidence.
-Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Trying to meet someone as weird as myself who loves red wine and can captivate me with an interesting story...true or imaginary...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

You never know who you are going to meet... a picture and a few words doesn't dictate personality. And personality can leave a very wide spectrum to chance...

Interests

Oh I'm interested in everything!! Poetry, animals, money, reading, listening to music, partying, watching old movies, conspiracy theories (the things people come up with in their spare time...), pranks and random facts, love and lust, understanding autism, saving the planet (WTF...RECYCLE)! I also like to people watch at the mall, better than spending my money yes...is that weird?

I also want to learn how to play an instrument!

I dream of being fluent in French! I took 2 years of French in school but ummm...

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all types of music... Too many to list in fact... but my favorite artist is Erykah Badu!!

Favorite writer/poet, Langston Hughes. My favorite poem is GIRL:
"She lived in sinful happiness
And died in pain.
She danced in the sunshine
And laughed in rain.
She went one summer morning
When flowers spread the plain,
But she told everybody
She was coming back again.
Folks made a coffin
And hid her deep in earth.
Seems like she said:
My body
Brings new birth.
For sure there grew flowers
And tall young trees
And sturdy weeds and grasses
To sway in the breeze.
And sure she lived
In growing things
With no pain
To laugh in sunshine
And dance in rain."

But I love to read (not a fan of mysteries though, the suspense is too brutal). Anything else however, curled up on a lazy Sunday with a bottle of wine will do just fine!

I watch movies HECKA LATE! The fuss of new releases is so distracting and you have everybodies opinions of the film being jammed down your throat when it first comes out so me, I like to watch a movie when its about 5 or some odd years old. Let my friends tell it and they'll say older than that! But that way, I can get all excited about the film and interpret it for what it is, not what the media made it out to be. I just saw The Aviater with Leonardo DiCaprio and it was AWESOME!!!!! Anybody want to discuss it lol?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught an autistic child how to wear shoes...it took about 3 months!

I saw a guy with one leg riding a bike once.
