About Me
Hello!
My name is Miguel. I love music, dancing, visual arts, my family, cooking, riding my bike, going through new experiences and creating fond memories. I try to make a difference in my own as well as other people's lives
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been very lucky to have done some traveling. A few years ago I had an amazing experience in Puerto Rico couchsurfing. More recently I took a road trip to visit a bunch of music friends in Canada and the North Eastern U.S.
Couchsurfing are some of the most interesting and cherished memories of my life.
I have some experience hosting surfers from couchsurfing.org, but the bulk of the experience I have as a host is hosting bands that I put on shows for that are on tour from all over the U.S. as well as other parts of the world.
Interests
Meeting new people and making memorable experiences happen. Learning to love the world and myself a day at the time.
Music - I am surrounded by it.
Food- haha, who doesn't love food, right? This is one of coolest aspects of culture - and one of the reasons Anthony Bourdain is so popular. I love trying out new foods as well as making food for friends and family.
Dancing- My passion is music and dancing is a big part of it. I took a few salsa lessons, but besides that self expression and energy is how I roll. Always fun.
Visual Arts- I check out art shows pretty regularly and make my own art. It's pretty cool.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really go to the movie theater a lot, but the last movie I saw there (twice) was The Hobbit.
Some of my favorite movies are the usual suspects: Fight Club, Snatch, The Holy Mountain, Amores Perros, Kill Bill, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, etc etc etc
I listen to a bunch of music. I can go from listening to Daft Punk to Fruko Y Sus Tesos to Drive Like Jehu to Ceremony to At The Drive In to Nina Simone to Gogol Bordello to Mastodon. I don't understand music purists. My music taste is organic. It ebbs and flows over time, both evolving and devolving.
The last really good books I read were The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Freakonomics, and The Third Chimpanzee. Right now i'm making my way thru The New York Trilogy.
Fun fact: I have a tattoo inspired by Gabo's Cien Años de Soledad.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I get to see supremely talented musicians perform at the comfort of my home regularly, for free. It's pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to play guitar, drums, and bass. I can also teach you how to cook something up!
I love learning and sharing so if you can teach me something new, please do by all means.
We learn from everyone and everything until we are no more.
