Hey dear friends!

My name is Jovana, I am 34 and live with my boyfriend and cat in the beautiful city Belgrade, Serbia. I was born and raised here, but also got the chance to spend 2 years of my life in Leuven and Brussels, Belgium where I studied. In 2015 with two very close friends I founded Food and Culture Tour in Belgrade company which lets curious visitors explore my country through its delicious food and interesting customs! As the time went by we grew into Friends and Culture, a company that is organizing cross-cultural programs for expats moving to Serbia. I am also teaching Dutch and Serbian and am very passionate about how languages shape the way we think and connect with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think this is a great way to meet people while travelling or hosting outside of the typical travelling experience in a hotel or a hostel.

Interests

I enjoy learning foreign languages! And teaching them! :) My newest adventure is learning Swahili, which takes a lot of effort but brings a lot of fun as well!
Dancing and travelling are my two other passions. And I cannot forget my lovely companion - my bike! I have done some really nice adventures with it, in the mountain of Velebit in Croatia and in the Slovenian Alps, just name the most memorable ones. Lately me and my boyfriend have been exploring some nice cycling possibilities in the Balkans.
Spending time planning adventures with my boyfriend and friends, of enjoying some nice time with my family are also on the top of my list!

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music that makes me dance or relax. At the moment my favorite artists are Fink, Balmorhea and Oscar and the wolf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once ate adventure in a cup. (if you ever come to visit me, I'll explain! ;))

Cycling along the entire Velebit mountain in Croatia, motorcycling in the north of Vietnam, kayaking down the amazing Uvac river in Serbia, zip-line-ing over the Tara canyon in Montenegro, winning a dance contest in Sienfuegos, Cuba, getting kicked out of a club in Copenhagen because I (together with my best friend) "accidentally" drank something form the bar I didn't pay for, being on Belgian television two times and many, many more! :)

Had frank and deep conversations with my close friends and parents.

Started a company without any business knowledge.
