ABOUT ME

Hey everyone, I am Jovana, a freelance journalist from Serbia, currently living in the Netherlands with my Dutch boyfriend. As every journalist I am very curious and I love to talk.😉

Anyone who has spent more than 5 min with me knows that the most important thing in my life are my friends. I would do anything for them, I love them to death even though I often think they are completely crazy. 😀
Unfortunately most of my close friends live abroad which is why I am constantly online, talking to someone 😀

Those who know me well say that the only thing that can kill me is the lack of information. 🙂 I guess that's why I became a journalist. Since I work as a freelancer at the moment it takes a lot of my time during the day but it gives me a completely flexible schedule, so you can often find me in a nearby cafe with my laptop :) I enjoy having loooong coffees with my friends, cooking for them...

I love hosting, showing my guests around, providing information for lost travelers.... :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have mostly hosted and it was a wonderful experience. I made some friendships for life after just a couple of days of hosting. :D Even though I mostly hosted since reference system changed a lot of references got classified as "personal", while they are actually from guests. So number of references doesn't really depict true number of guests :D

Interests

I discover new ones every day. No is my huge passion, it's in my blood and I will never stop loving it, although I am not certain I will keep working as a journalist in the future.
I also love learning new languages, current project is Dutch and it's not going that well 😀
I am a big foodie, I love to cook and to eat. I enjoy trying new foods and recreating dishes I tried, at home. Me and my boyfriend love nice restaurants and we a both adventurous eaters 🙂

My boyfriend's hobby is flying small airplanes and love to join him whenever possible. ✈️

Music, Movies, and Books

Bit of everything.
I wish I had more time for movies because I really like them, except SF and horrors, I don't see a point of those.
Most people consider my playlist to be insane since it has almost every type of music. I can enjoy classical music or opera at one moment and than 3 min later listen to some rock or dance music. I really love traditional Serbian music and I have to admit, I love trumpets.
Books: Everything and anything, mostly novels that can keep my focus for hours. I love travel stories and particularly enjoy books written by some of my favorite journalists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have seen, by far, is the smile of my best friend when she woke up from coma.

Been a character in a comic book

Danced with a group of dear friends on the empty Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo one foggy January night

Went on a trip to France, Spain and Italy with over 2000 students from Serbia 😀
