About Me

A friend of mine has been couch surfing for years, and I finally got to experience it for myself helping him host. Now I'm hooked, so I am setting up a profile.

I have lived in Buffalo all of my life and I love it here. Currently i reside in a quaint little town nestled against the hills to the south towns of Buffalo. Within a 5 minute walk of my home one can find public transportation, charming little shops and pubs, and a wide variety of parks and public buildings.

I find City of Buffalo no less charming, and have lived all over its borders through out my life. From Canalisde located in downtown buffalo, to the south towns where I spend many weekends on the beach, to the waterfall at Niagara falls, I know my hometown well, and enjoy sharing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I am almost exclusively available only as a guide. I have some family staying with me for the next few months, but I am very interested in meeting people and taking them around my city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was helping a friend of mine host someone from Russia. The day before his couchsurfer arrived, I thought he was nuts. They day after his couchsurfer left, I totally got it. There was a wonderful exchange of culture, personal stories and experiences, laughs and a few drinks, and it all made perfect sense. It was a wonderful experience that I greatly look forward to replicating.

Interests

I enjoy spending weekends at the lake, going out to see local music at cool little bars, catching some of the area's many local festivals, lawn fetes and fairs. I love walking many of our local parks and exploring the area's many natural treasures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Country to rock, if the bands half way good I will check them out. I am a school teacher, so a majority of my reading is at the third grade level, lol. When I get to read grown up books, some of my favorites are Tuesdays with Morie, and NIcholas Sparks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen some amazing things in this world, but I can't think of anything more amazing than being trusted by parents to educate their children, and having the privilege of watching them learn, and grow over the school year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to knit, how pour a perfect "pishaw", or where to find the best secret beaches on the lake.

I want to learn about cultures, traditions, and I am especially interested in languages. I enjoy exploring the tiny differences between cultures.

I would like to share my home, my home town, my stories here, and I would like to share a great communal experience with other couch surfers.
