About Me
Hi ya, I love to laugh and can't wait for my upcoming trip. I'm exploring a career in architecture and will have my license within the next few years.
TRAVEL EXPERIENCE
- A portion of my previous studies included an eye opening exchange term in Scotland at the University of Edinburgh in 2015. My time there was a gateway to other countries across Europe, thus following my semester’s end, I spent May through August travelling, concluding with a month of volunteering with an English Immersion camp for youths in Poland (Angloville).
- 2018 4 week Nigerian heritage trip,
- 2018, 5 week summer school in Vienna, Austria
- 2018, 1.5 week course in Tijuana, Mexico
- Canadian explorations since covid
MORE ON MY ARCHITECTURE JOURNEY
Some things I've explored in architecture can be seen here https://linktr.ee/RelicJoy
I was initially drawn to architecture for its potential to be used as a communication tool and social bridge. I like to design spaces that act as mixing pots for society. To me successful buildings are those which exist as a collaboration of ideas, coupled with an empathetic understanding of how the created space will be used. I believe that all architecture should give more than it takes and that each piece we erect should do so in a manner that positively affects the city and its people.
The notion that architecture can either help or hinder still strikes a chord with me and I look forward to more instances when I can lead the former.
*********** I'm clean, respectful of boundaries and house rules, quiet, prefer to sleep early and wake up early (or just sleep rofl)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had fun with couchsurfing back in 2015, I met some great hosts and new friends, and I love the unique glimpse into a country one gets from travelling this way. My boyfriend Michael also had a great time on couchsurfing doing a bicyle trip from Edmonton, Alberta to Guatemala then flew to Colombia and stayed there for a couple months to round out his 7 month trip (2013/14). We've both not been on couchsuring in a decade and are hoping it can still offer good times.
Interests
I bought a wee house 1.5 years ago with my bf Michael and recenty moved in after 1 year of being very hands on in the renovation. We're ready to stop using our vacation days to work on the house and get back to seeing the world! We've been spending a lot of time expanding our cooking skills and experimenting with recipies and are both good in the kitchen.

- Gilmore Girls is a classsssssic
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Eastern Canada by myself at 18 not knowing a soul. I grew up a pretty shy self conscious kid for one reason or another (some still unknown) but out there I had to get out of my shell and comfort to create new communities. I learned so much about myself and my confidence grew tenfold. It was an exciting and scary adventure but I'm thankful I took that chance and the accompanying debt (barf), because I don't trust I would have had those character growth and independence opportunities if I went to uni in my home city and stayed living in the comfort of my parents home, free but sheltered and limited to what I'd known.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've always wanted to learn how to play drums, and piano. I recently inhereted a drum kit so here we gooooo!
I will happily share my cooking (not baking skills) :). I'm a spice queen that eat's a primarily vegetarian diet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experiences. I'm pretty open so not timid thus easy to talk to, ask me a question and I'll do my best to share.
