About Me

Life is extraordinary, and I'm enchanted by all of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I figure I've got 100 or so years on this planet, and I haven't met enough of the incredible people on it. I want to meet y'all!! People who are excited about connecting, sharing, adventuring, making wild memories. I want to meet more people who are determined to get the most out of their existence.

Interests

I am a singer (grew up singing gospel and r&b music!), and I love ecstatic dance!

Music, Movies, and Books

Artists on my most-repeated playlist: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Janelle Monae, India.Arie, Emily King, Daley, Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, Monsieur Nov, Justin Timberlake, D'Angelo, Frank Ocean, John Mayer, Lianne La Havas, Powerline, and Protozoa.

Movies that I have watched and re-watched: The MATRIX (!!!), Lord of the Rings, Coming to America, The Goonies, Star Wars, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Dumb & Dumber (or anything with Jim Carrey in it), Aladdin, Star Wars, Home Alone, Cinderella (the version with Brandy). I reeeally love a good/funny/provocative/ancient/otherworldly/very-random-indie movie.

Books... oh books: Octavia Butler. Steven King. Maya Angelou. Tolkien & his homeslice C. S. Lewis. Don Miguel Ruiz. Roald Dahl. Usually enchanting and life-changing ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove through one of the biggest blizzards in Boston history to get to the closest open airport (Washington D.C.) to fly to Los Angeles in time for the Grammys...which I ended up not attending. Le sigh. The trip was unbelievable though and very Mission Impossible if I do say so myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

My life motto: "Whatever you do, Come Alive," (inspired by Howard Thurman). Whenever your eyes are wide, your mind is on fire, and you forget that time exists...I think that means you've come alive.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Pancakes made from scratch.
Willingness to accompany you to that thing or place you'd been meaning to go for forever.
