About Me
Your average 40 year old single cat lady cat fishing from her parent's basement. Oh crap! Sorry, forgot I'm not writing my tinder profile.
To be honest, I don't think that I am a very interesting person. Looking at other CSurfers profiles, my life doesn't really stand out. I haven't been challenged when it comes to being abroad. Whenever I've traveled, I was on vacation. I had friends and family to see and an itinerary to stick to. My life is pretty boring...
That's why I'm planning to make a trip out to the west coast. I don't have a large budget, or friends on the west coast, and I don't really know what's over there. Planning out this trip, I realized there's a lot of things that I don't know or don't have, but thats why I'm here on CS. I want to take a risk on life and on strangers. I want to soul search in the west coast with no plan, no schedule but with an open heart looking for some friends to vibe with.
I can cook enough to survive. I can either feed you food or ALCOHOL! Lol I pour drinks for the restaurant I work for, so I can whip you up a nice cocktail. PS bourbon is my devil's water of choice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was supposed to be in Korea teaching English this year, but some important paperwork didn't go through... So now I'm stuck Stateside until 2016. I do plan on teaching abroad, but right now God is telling me to wait. Until I can leave, I want to make some new friends, explore the States and grub on some tasty food. When I end up in Korea or Japan, come visit me! I would love to host you!
Interests
I am a singer. I don't have interesting stories of worldly travels to tell, but I have beautiful melodies that I can sing for you! I studied classical music in college, but I have a passion for singing contemporary music. You name it, I'll try to sing it haha.
I love being active. I workout for good health and for overall happiness, haha get those endorphins running! I lift, box, and climb. I wish I could surf, volleyball and run well. I don't like basketball, soccer or football (but I don't mind watching it lol).
I LOVEE cats hahaha! I have two cats and yes sometimes I wish they would love me as much as I love them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to NYC with my Christian campus ministry for a mission trip. The focus was on how we can care for those who are in need, specifically the homeless and victims of human trafficking. What I learned from the experience is that the homeless are not some charity project, they are people who are in need of God's unconditional love; not too far off from myself.
As I walked into the park with my group, I inhaled the beautiful scenery. It was a lovely day. The sun was shining, the sky was crystal blue with a slight dusting of white fluffy clouds, people were outside enjoying the lazy afternoon. Ironically there was no need for my winter ski jacket or my fall sweater.
I was in love with the colors. The blue sky, the white clouds, the green grass, the brown bark on the trees, the colors of people's clothing. Then, the picture changed when all of these colors started to fade.
The vibrant colors drained into a dull grey. Not 50 shades of grey (lol had to), but the kind of grey that feels like nothingness. Desperately searching for life, the only color I saw came from this homeless person sitting on the bench. I can't describe what color it was, but I saw that person for who he is. I noticed him, I saw his pain, and I saw color in him.
I like to think that every individual is unique and everyone has a shade of color to represent themselves. As large as the number of people that I have yet to meet is, so is the colors I have yet to see. For the rest of my spring break that I was in NYC, I saw people differently. The homeless stood out to me in colors I have never seen before. In each color, I saw happiness, community, strength, love, innocence; I thought there would be sadness in these colors, but I was wrong!
