Hi there, thanks for checking out my profile. This is Joyce from Malaysia and I am currently pursuing my undergraduate course in Dublin, Ireland!

I come from a land below the wind which is Sabah located in the Borneo archipelago. In this land located the 20th most prominent mountain in the world (4,095 metres) that hikers from all around the world come to conquer.

Malaysia is located in South East Asia, together with Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines etc. There is no 4 seasons and I can say it is summer the whole year round! Malaysia is a multi-racial country and this brings out diversity in culture and also a great variety of food! We have Malay, Indian, Chinese, Indegionious people that live in harmony.

I love to see and experience new things (even though sometimes worries, laziness and cowardness prevail :P). I would want to achieve more in my life so that when I look back on my life when I am 80 years old, I will be proud of it. :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have 2 couchsurfing experiences with my friend when we travelled to Germany prior to me having a couchsurfing account. And I would say that was a great experience. Made new friends and we have also understand more about the place, the people, the culture etc. This is what travel should be and a totally different experience than living in a youth hostel!

Favorite music - instrumental and unplugged!
Favorite movies - Hayao Miyazaki's or Studio Ghibli animated movies such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart etc. I also like how sci-fic movies ignite the imagination in one's mind i.e. Chronicle of Narnia.
Favorite book - Juliet by Anne Fortier
