About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After a round the world journey in 2013/2014, we've fallen even more in love with travelling. We love to see how things are different and the same around the world. We want to go anywhere we haven't been...and back to most places we have been. There is no better way to learn more about the world and broaden horizons than traveling and meeting people.
ABOUT US
We are a husband and wife who spent 14 months traveling the world and a little of our own country. We love life and we don't want to waste it, so we believe in doing what we can with what we have. At some point, we realized that if we kept waiting for the right time or the right budget we would never go anywhere, so we made this trip a priority and started planning. Joyce quite her job, we sold our home, gave away or sold most of our possessions and stashed the rest in a friend's basement. On April 1, 2013 we took a one-way flight to Mexico and we were on the road. We decided to land back in Fort Collins, Colorado, but we're a little antsy to get out again and are taking as many trips to new places as we can. Meeting people from other places who are visiting our Colorado home is a great opportunity too, so we love to get together with other travelers from near and far.
PHILOSOPHY
To learn, enjoy and share. to invest in the things that really matter (people and experiences) instead of the things that just weigh us down (the material stuff). Don't get us wrong though, we like nice stuff, we are just trying to have far less of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We've hosted over 20 surfers over the years and have also surfed couches around the world. We look forward to meeting up with many more as we continue to travel. Our current home has a couch available and we've made that work.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far we have surfed couches in Colorado, NYC, Belize, South Africa, Germany & Italy and met up with CSers all over. We've also hosted many at our Old Town home in Fort Collins Colorado USA. All have been great experiences where we made new friends. We are looking forward to meeting more people and traveling as much as we can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love sea turtles (you may, at this point, have guessed correctly, that this is Joyce typing) and my most amazing recent experiences have been snorkeling with adult green turtles in Belize and releasing baby hawksbill turtles on the beach in Jamaica. Not only were the turtles amazing, but the man who owns the stretch of the beach they nest on was impressive for the personal mission he's adopted to really learn about them and protect them.
Teach, Learn, Share
Joyce - expertise to share in nonprofit event management & fundraising in general.
Daryle - expertise in internet marketing, writing, and photography.
Joyce - struggling to develop more advanced Spanish skills and would love some practice. I'd also love help on my mission to learn to surf.
We also love food, so if you are interested in making a dish from your home country, we'd love to try it.
