About Me

My name is Joy, I am 29 years old, and I am a DJ. Music has always been my childhood dream, and I take great pleasure in living that dream today. I have been playing professionally for about 8 years, and I am originally from the northern region of Brazil but currently living in São Paulo. I am going to Europe for the first time. I previously did an exchange program in the United States, where I studied architecture for a few years, but I decided to pursue music and dropped out of the course. I have played in various cities across Brazil, and now I am seeking to establish myself as an artist and expand my career. My goal for going to Europe is to achieve that and, of course, to meet new people, experience different cultures, and visit new places.
I have a strong passion for cinema and photography, enjoy visiting museums, love experimenting with new cuisines, and I am a big fan of Asian food – I enjoy trying all sorts of dishes. For those who are astrology enthusiasts, I have Venus in Taurus (who knows, will know, haha). It has been many years since I last traveled outside Brazil, so I am excited and eager to explore the old world. I will be performing for the first time abroad in Germany, and I am incredibly happy and excited about this achievement. I also have some friends scattered throughout Europe whom I want to visit.
My idea of fun is going to record stores, exploring museums, indulging in delicious food, spending time in parks, and enjoying outdoor activities. I am also very fond of children and animals, I like to engage in interesting conversations, I like to talk about politics, history, and people say that I have a great sense of humor, I like to make people laugh, lets see if Im still funny in a second language hehe

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to connect with locals, and since I'm traveling by myself, I feel safer interacting with people from the city. I've had incredible experiences being hosted by very kind and sweet individuals who took care of me. It's been a long time since I last used Couchsurfing; I used it during my early 20s, and it was great. I would love to revisit this experience as a more mature person :) I believe now I have more to offer as an individual and as a citizen.

Interests

Music, books, photography, arts, nice conversations and drinking a beer :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rided a biked for more than 31 miles around San Francisco, CA!

Teach, Learn, Share

Although I love eating, I'm not exactly the best cook. I manage well with the basics of cooking for everyday meals. I enjoy cooking with company; it makes me feel more motivated, haha. I find it a bit sad to cook for just one person, but if you want to cook with me, I'd love that! We can come up with a dish and go for it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It's a tough question, but I believe that I can be a good companion for any kind of activity, haha.
I Guess know a lot of things about music and of course, about Brazil. I've visited many states so I can super recommend and give tips :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Chile, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
