ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Joy and I'm a small town girl, far too complicated for Oklahoma living, so I moved to the northeast to spice things up. A natural introvert, but I do what I can to be extroverted (because that's how to get places in life). I strive to be a well-rounded individual and take a general interest in just about anything...as long as the person informing me is passionate about it. I'm in advertising, so I enjoy learning about people and what drives them (to buy products) but also just generally through life.

I have believed in God and been a Christian almost my entire life, but am just now slowly figuring out what it is all really about: relationships. That's what I am striving to build each and every day.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an opportunist that believes that life is what you make of it, so make it count.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only surfed so far on my road trip from Providence to Seattle, but once I settle into my new life in NYC, I am excited to pay it forward and begin to host surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met incredibly hospitable and personable folks through Couch Surfing that I would have never met otherwise. Cities and towns are just grass and concrete without the people in them, Couch Surfing allows you to experience the real community by meeting the people that live there.

I rarely have time to enjoy movies these days and when I do, I want something feel-good and mindless, so don't judge, I like a good rom-com whenever I get a chance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Road tripped across the northern USA and got to see Yellowstone National Park and the beautiful lanscape of our great country.

Realization of an answered prayer still blows my mind.
