ABOUT ME

so, it seems I'm back to the old continent once more. I'm currently living in Cambridge, UK, carrying out my PhD. I'm beginning the second year now and rushing to catch up with everything. hope to find some time for CS once in a while, but things can get really busy here sometimes!

my name is Arthur, Luis, Joselito, Josie, Tuca, red-wine-addicted, panda lover; well, as you wish - make some noise and you'll have my attention. I'm actually from Recife, Brazil, a city no one ever knows about. Uh, I also lived for one year in Spain, in another unknown city called Segovia. I wish I could live in Japan or China now, and this time I wouldn't mind people being aware of the city name.

things about me? I'm quite clumsy, I don't like serious faces, and I love sports (actually doing it, not watching). don't you ever - I said never! - give anything to me to hold it, I will certainly forget it somewhere. not kidding :D what else... I love to hate things; I hate capital letters and PC inexplicable errors (now even mac), Spanish bullfights and chocolate, coffee and losing some life-time while sleeping (yeah, I should like coffee, maybe...) but I do love music and nature, olive oil and salad, costumes and smiles, potatoes and spices, running and cycling, hugs and singing, whistles and cooking... in couple!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted them, they hosted me, I hosted them more than they hosted me, we all enjoyed each other having great times... what more? I just appreciate having different people around, being introduced to new ideas, sharing experiences - it really makes me quite happy.

and was so glad they kept on coming! maybe I did prefer to host than to be hosted, but what I reeeally liked the most, is when they cooked for me :) I have this situation... I'm always hungry!

unfortunately, busy times have driven me away from CS for a while, but I really wanna get back to it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

it was almost like my job in that small town called Segovia, you know? at least while I didn't get a real one... and I already had lots of wonderful experiences being hosted and hosting. it's such an incredible system and wonderful idea!

now I'm trying to make it work here in UK ;)

兴趣

lots of music, pandas, musician pandas, nature, nature with pandas and music, people, nature without people, smiles, smiling pandas, cooking (but not pandas), wine, being drunk in nature acting like a panda. and maybe earning some money for travelling and try everything life has to offer us.

mpb, 80's classics and old stuff like led zeppelin, cream, the band, rush, lynyrd skynyrd, foghat and dire straits. really good music like bella fleck, dave matthews band, dream theater, the beatles, pink floyd, mouse on the keys and some good blues and jazz. ehhhr... actually, anything but rap :P

what else? movies about music? books about music?

maybe forrest gump, big fish and o brother, where art thou?, miyazaki's, those kind of totally unreal movies - just love it.

about books I could say "the mists of Avalon", the best book with the worst movie ever :] actually, I should be more into books, but I'd rather listen to music, hoho.
