About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Gardening and child-raising at home, humanitarian and missionary dental training abroad.
ABOUT ME
We love traveling and meeting people. Our flexible work lets us spend a chunk of time every year traveling -- sometimes roadtrips, sometimes humanitarian and missionary work. Sometimes both!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why not? It is a wonderful way to travel -- in our experience the people on couchsurfing are some of the most interesting and warmest people around -- and we are big fans of things like freecycling and the gift economy.
We make the world a little better when we share what we have, and when we gratefully accept gifts from others.
Interests
We are turning our front yard from lawn into a permaculture meadow / vegetable garden / berry patch. We like reading, talking, walking, and exploring new places. Meggan likes writing and collecting Breyer horses, and Jason likes cooking and is a new member of our county's search and rescue.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We've spent about 3 months in Thailand living at a children's home for refugees from Burma. Teaching english, doing first aid, and basically being mommy and daddy for the kids.
We've been trained as humanitarian dental workers, and have filled over 200 cavities in interesting places with simple hand tools and no electricity except the batteries in a headlamp.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, conversation, fresh baked bread, and curry. Let us know if we should bring the spices!
Depending on the time of year, we might be able to share seeds, plant starts, or cuttings and runners.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, India, Lesotho, Mexico, Nepal, South Africa, Thailand
