ABOUT ME

I have been a global nomad and seeker for many years and as a result very adaptable like a chameleon - i can feel at home quite easily and quickly in many settings. i look for depth in life not just experiences and love to learn from as many sources as possible, especially nature, ancient wisdom, alternative ways of doing and thinking, complexity systems thinking and mysticism.

Many philosophies inspire me, especially Mahatma Gandhi's words 'You are the change you want to see in the world'

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some great experiences till now. I've met people who've become really good friends and other meetings that have taught me a lot and where someone helped me out, or vice-versa.

I love books that open the mind and bring reflection on life and the world, especially history, international politics, mysticism, ecology, Ayurveda, systems thinking...Some authors that really inspire me are Rumi, the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Fritjof Capra, E.F. Schumacher, Satish Kumar, Charles Eisenstein, Chomsky, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Eduardo Galeano, Arundhati Roy, Naomi Klein...

I love all types music from many corners of the world especially Zimbabwean, East African/Swahili music, Soukous, West African, Indian classical, reggae, kwaito, jazz, trip-hop, ambient, drum 'n' bass, Arabic, Cuban, classical and plenty more....

I love watching meaningful movies, documentaries, TED talks, and films that make me laugh especially Monty Python, Curb Your Enthusiasm and stand-up comedy, amongst others. I also love Spoken Word.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

So many...one of them was sailing up part of the west coast of India for a week in a canoe with a friend, meeting fisherfolk communities from a completely different perspective and having a truly incredible adventure!

I taught English for many years, so I can do language exchange. I studied Ayurvedic massage which I can share with you as well as some yoga that I've been practising for years. Permaculture, sustainability, participatory leadership and creating a better future are some of my passions that I'd love to share too! I can also cook different types of dishes from across the world.
