About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To rock out, even when nobody is playing any music.

ABOUT ME

I'm about as relaxed as they come. Napping happens to be a favorite past-time of mine. I'm a fan of campy movies, tolerable music, and seeing as much of everything as it is possible for me to see. There's a whole lot out there, and the best I can do is get out there and make the most of it.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a process and you never stop learning.

Interests

Travel to anywhere I can rest my weary head, music (both making and listening), learning from the world around me, the phenomenon that is soccer/football/fussball/jouer au foot, politics, philosophy, political philosophy, philosophical politics, and connecting with others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Army of Darkness is the best and greatest (sort of), and I also enjoyed such flicks as Big Trouble in Little China, What Dreams May Come, any Wes Anderson movie, just about any Tarantino and Cohen Brothers film, Lost in Translation...the list goes on and on

Music - Just about anything. This includes classic rock, classical, 80's (oh those 80's!), 90's grunge and alternative, modern rock, bluegrass, jazz, and so on. Bands: Muse, Albert Hammond Jr., Dispatch, State Radio, The Clash, Radiohead, to name a few.

Books - Catch 22, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Brave New World, The Great Gatsby, This Side of Paradise, the Wheel of Time Series (if it ever ends), The Myth of Sisyphus, The Divine Comedy, Witness to an Extreme Century, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Totalitarianism, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I got stranded in a city on the Swiss-German border with no money, no phone, and no way to get anywhere until six o'clock the next morning (that was approximately ten hours away). It was freezing cold, and I was planning on spending the night having a personal dance party in order to keep warm when a hobo came up and told me he had found a warm place to sleep. Did I end up spending the night with said hobo? Yes. Did anything get stolen and/or violated? No. Was it something to look back upon fondly? Not particularly. But, it was still an interesting time. Longer explanation upon request.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to learn about the psychology and philosophy of trauma, I'm the man to ask. My current studies are focused on treating trauma in civilian populations.
