ABOUT ME
My name's James Shearman, I'm a 20 year old artist and professional coffee-drinker, soon to be studying to become a Chilli Wizard. I'm not that new to Couchsurfing but haven't utilised it much at all.
PHILOSOPHY
"If I put away Salvation among the stage properties as impossible, what is left? A whole man, made of all men, worth all of them, and any one of them worth him" - Jean-Paul Sartre (Words)
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I'm not at liberty to offer a couch to anyone as I don't have a couch, but once the couch-owning happens for me this page will be updated.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Used couchsurfing a few years back to help ease the burden of being flat broke and with nowhere to stay in Birmingham for a weekend of volunteering.

(although neither lists/logs on these sites are entirely complete in relation to the actual scope of what I like and have read/seen/heard, but represent a majority)
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Stood on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa.
(I'd also like to point out I also find things amazing in life that don't represent the archetypal, scale-and-extremity-is-everything form of amazement)
Insegna, impara, condividi
Seeing as I'm a self-taught guitarist, and semi-inferred bassist, I don't see why I couldn't give a shot at educating anyone who dared be willing to take me on as their teacher in either practise. But I would advise that, having not learnt to teach properly, I would require an especially compliant and open-minded pupil to thrive at this task.
I am also particularly tech-savy. I know how to use most of MS Office packages and specialist softwares (Adobe Reader/Photoshop/etc, VideoPad Video Editor, Final Cut Express/Pro, Windows Movie Maker, Antivirus Freeware, Skype, Audacity, Garageband, Reason, Spotify, Comical, iTunes, most browsers and so on) and I'm willing to help with any technical issues you might be having and need resolving and can probably show you easy ways of seeking your own technical advice/help in the future.
I am also an artist at heart, and love painting, charcoal etching and illustrating in practically any form I can find. I could help you by showing you different ways of experimenting with your medium or by simply involving you in a communal process of making art together (I find that, coming out of the 'art' education system, I miss those periods dedicated to making art in one room, surrounded by others doing the exact same, and either working to an objective agenda or developing one that's self-directed).
