About Me
Greetings from the vibrant heart of Portugal!
I'm a proud native of the enchanting region nestled between Oporto and Braga, specifically in Famalicão. This picturesque part of the world served as my launchpad for exploring the globe, all while cherishing the natural beauty of my own homeland, which is nothing short of spectacular.
My journey through life led me to Braga, where I embarked on the path of Medicine, culminating in a specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology. While my formal identity may revolve around healing and care, it only scratches the surface of who I am. You see, I'm not one to be confined by labels. My passions span far and wide, from delving into the intricacies of mathematics and physics to indulging in a love for sports, literature, music, and the culinary arts.
I'm an unabashedly curious soul with an open mind, making it easy for me to find joy in almost anything. This inherent curiosity has led me down various unexpected paths, including mastering the art of Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba, exploring the serenity of meditation, and cultivating an unshakable bond with the wonders of nature, whether it's beneath the waves or amidst the majestic mountains.
I'm excited to connect with fellow adventurers through Couchsurfing, share stories, and maybe even discover some new passions together.
I look forward to the chance to learn more about you and your own unique journey!
Warm regards,
João Reis
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason I'm on Couchsurfing is simple: I'm passionate about traveling. But let me clarify, I'm not your typical tourist; I consider myself a backpacker at heart.
My goal when I visit a new city or country is to truly immerse myself in the local culture. I'm not content with just ticking off the famous tourist spots; I want to get to know the soul of the place. I want to meet the people who call it home, understand their customs, savor their cuisine, delve into their histories, and discover what they hold dear about their cities.
For me, Couchsurfing is an incredible opportunity to achieve this purpose. It's a chance to connect with locals who can show me the hidden gems and share their personal stories, giving me a genuine and unforgettable experience of the place.
And let's not forget the joy of making new friends! Couchsurfing isn't just about finding a place to stay; it's about forging connections and building friendships with people from all walks of life. After all, who doesn't love the prospect of adding more friends to their global map?
So, whether you're keen on sharing stories, exploring your city with a curious traveler, or simply making a new friend, I'm excited to be part of the Couchsurfing community and look forward to the adventures ahead!
