About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go to France. Seriously. I don't really have any other long term goals.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy taking my time at during all hours of the day. I like to have as few beliefs as possible, when it is possible.

While I am by no means an expert of his work, I really enjoy Sartre, and his ideas about la liberté de l'homme. I try to conceive my personality as being constantly in flux, with as little defining traits as possible. For the most part, that doesn't really mean very much, except that from time to time I may appear passive or weak-willed. I perceive this as a necessary consequence of my general philosophy.

Feel free to comment about this, as long as you are respectful of course !

PHILOSOPHY

A contradictory cross between a humanistic belief in the free will and independence of the mind, and a post-structuralist deconstruction of individuality.

I don't like groups, although that does seem a bit silly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As soon as I live on my own, I would love to welcome travelers into my home. We could cook together, socialize etc. Or not. Right now, I am surfing a lot, an experience that I really enjoy. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences. I find it really exciting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Les histoires extraodinaires que mes amis me racontent, Quelques belles soirées passées à Milano.

A cela s'ajoute : a few weeks (maybe for) spent surfing at Paris as I search for an appartment. For which I am extremely grateful. There is such a difference between living in a beautiful city and visiting it as a tourist.

Interests

Arsenal (enjoying football is not at all necessary to get along with me - you can even be a supporter of ManU, or Liverpool, or Chelsea and we could still get along!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Manouche Jazz. And other types of music.
Sartre. Kundera.
Music : I enjoy particularly various styles of electronic music, classical music (which I am just getting into), some indie, folk music, fingerpicking guitar, good alt rock, jazz ... This does not mean that I don't appreciate other styles. I admit that I have a hard time listening to "popular" music, and I have been reproched for this.

Natural Born Killers, Eastern Promises, The Big Blue, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Hiroshima Mon Amour, La Femme Nikita, Leon the Professional, Princess Mononoke. I don't watch films very often, and I have to be careful because I am very sensitive !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

All I can think of right now is that I really like my dog. He is a Bichon Frisé . He is not really my dog - he lives with me and my family, but I do not claim possession over him.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that no matter where you are, you can find the beauty of a place if you look hard enough. But that idea is rather cliché.
For some reason, I strongly believe in free choice to the greatest extent possible. I don't like rules or categories.
I think this is what I like to spread. I can also teach guitar ! Or mandoline, if you have one. French or English if you like too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
