About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find out what life has to offer, with a least one laugh each day

ABOUT ME

A description of myself. I guess my take on life is best said before I was born (as are most great things) by Smiley Blanton: "Practice easing your way along. Don't get het up or in a dither. Do your best; take it as it comes. You can handle anything if you think you can. Just keep your cool and your sense of humor."

The main thing I get back from people is that I'm always calm, relaxed, friendly, and easy to hang out with.

During my travels I love to listen to music and read books, when not trying to see all there is to see like an achievementwhore. At home I'm completely the other way around, and love to watch movies, tv shows, play games or browse Reddit like a zombie and never get around to reading a single page. I love playing on my bass guitar with my brother and other people who are way more musically gifted than me.

And during the evenings I like getting together with friends and either drinking beer in a bar, going to a concert, playing a 6-8 hour boardgame or getting my nerd on with some D&D.

In the winter I dip my toes into the snow and like to go snowboarding.

Basically, usually I'm up for anything that sounds like fun and allows me to experience a new aspect of life.

PHILOSOPHY

Practice easing your way along. Don't get het up or in a dither. Do your best; take it as it comes. You can handle anything if you think you can. Just keep your cool and your sense of humor.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: love the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett, and now I'm deep into the Legend of Drizzt books by R.A. Salvatore.

Music: oh, so many. My all time favourite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers (of the John Frusciante era). But aside from that, music that moves me goes from the relaxing J.J. Cale to the heavy Tool, to the jazzy goodness that is Bonobo and to the happy fellows of The Cat Empire.

Movies: I have a broad taste, though I am a sucker for blockbusters. But movies like Se7en, Fight Club, Lucky Number Slevin, The Shawshank Redemption, Office Space are high on my list (and I'm already forgetting at least a dozen which, when you name them to me I'll say "D'oh! Of course, how could I forget?!"
