🏁I'm going to travel in the end of 2014 to 2015-2016 by land, through Europe than Africa🌍, reach the South America🌎 continent by 👍hitchhike a boat⛵in Dakar, then make a big turn around there for at least a year and a half. I guess I´ll be travelling around 13 countries.

ABOUT ME
🌍🌎🌏Hi, I'm Joris, a curious chef world traveler since I´m 19 years. I've been travelling in 35 countries, in 6 different continents (base on a 7 continents model).

👣👣👣I'm used to travel by myself, going around with my light backpack, murmur in the mountains´ ears, explore countries that intrigue me the most, discover different cultures and live with the locals.

I like the fact of meeting new people with a different point of view.
I´ve been Hitch-Hiking since I´m 15-16, almost all my lonely way last 4 years, with over 30 000 km.
For me, HH is the best way to travel. It makes you tolerant because you must be open-mind as you meet every kind of people👤, every sex👫, orientation👬👭, color👮👴, race👲👳🐒👽, class🏰🏠⛺, religion⛪🔯🉐, politic opinion♻🔱🌐💰, age💃👼🎅, personality💅💄💵💳📚🔭💻🎪🎧 and taste🍰🍕🍲🍌🍏🌽🍟🍳🍍

After my first year of travelling in Australia🐨, I realize how time⏳ problem is just a modern thing that occidental societies bring as a routine. I decided to keep going my travels, without any exceptation of time schedule🔜. I go around, slowly, with not much plans, and they are always changeable🆓. So I decided to try to not take anymore planes✈ for travels, as it goes too fast for me.⏩⏩

🔧PRACTICAL INFORMATION

I'm travelling NOW, for the first time in 4 years, with an internet device, a 📱tablet! Still no smartphone📵. I still don't use What's-Up📴, Twitter🐦 or even Facebook💀. I usually have a local number with which I contact people from the country.👂☎

I consider myself as a Half-Vegetarian🍗🔛🍅 as I try to eat at least half less meat. I still eat some meat🍖, but I never need it, even for months. I eat everything and have no special diet.🍦🍪🍫🍳🍞🍲🍠🍌🍄🍇🌽

As a surfer, I enjoy spending some time🕒 with the locals, but I can also be very independent if the people don't have time. I can always be here for giving a hand👋 for anything for my host. For me the exchange start by not feeling afraid of asking for anything.

🏠COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

🚩I started by hosting people in my flat just by meeting them in the street.
For 4 years now, I've been without any home🏠, so didn't host in my own flat, but in other's one sometimes😁

I've been hosted many times➕, a lot without using CS at all, just by meeting some people in the country. I got picked in Australia, China, Mongolia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, Brazil, Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco, Brazil, Chile, Argentina. I met a few more people with CS for having a cup of tea🍵 or a walk in the city.👣

🍴Share a meal I just cooked♨ is a real pleasure for me, and usually for other people too! I´m really happy to learn cooking recipe from everywhere and also to share my knowledge.🔪🔥

After my chef school🎓, I was about to go into an art school🎨, but finally I didn't, and start travelling🏁🚀. I´ve been doing street art since few years, during my travelling or at home, I like to express myself on a wall in the street💥. I´m also really interesting about art in general, painting, photography📷, dancing🎠, theater🎭...

✒✏When I was 16, I start to write a lot for myself. Since then, I´ve got this need to write. I write about all my wonderment of life, travelling philosophy, interesting meetings in life.

🙇🙏I also got into spirituality of life, meditation, Buddhism and other stuff since 2012. I´m thinking of doing a Vipassana stage in south America👳

🌲🌴🌼🌈I love nature and mountains since I´m young, I guess, but I re-🔙realize it a few years ago, and it´s now a wide part of my life🆒. In every country I want to go, there is a place I want to climb up🗻. I´ve been rock climbing for 10 years, but during my travelling I don´t use to climb. I hike/trek a lot now since I´m travelling with all the trekking stuff to be autonomous.⛺

📚Books📖 : Philosophy, comics (BATMAN!), novel, fantasy (Tolkien), travels books... Pratchett, Camus, DC, Jardin, Marquez, Paulo Coelho, Sylvain Tesson. I don't have favorite one and I can't tell you everyone I read.

🌵-Driving 1800 km straight of desert unsealed road through the Gibson desert in Australia, with my normal two-wheels drive car.

❄-Swimming in the frozen Baikal lake in the middle of winter in Siberia by -25 degrees.

🍺-Drinking lot of Guinness in an Irish pub in Dublin, and still be the lowest drinker of the bar.

💂-Spending only one day in my entire life in London, then manage by accident to be the Prince William's Wedding day.

💰-Getting a lift across 1000km in Spain with a GoFast car with 10.000€ cash from drug selling.

🚂-Travelling in the Russian Transiberian train for 5192 km in 102 hours and cross more than half of the longest country in the world, and 1/8 of the Hearth´s circumference.

🗻-Climbing the Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia, 2.864 m and became half Slovenian by heart by reaching it.

🈹👲-Walking a full day on the Great Wall of China and bump into 5 people.

🍼-Tasting the fermented mare´s milk, Koumiss, and the salty Süütei Tsai tea in Mongolia.

⛄-Spending a December in Gdansk in Poland.

🌌-Sleeping with the Milky Way as a blanket in the middle of the desert in Australia.

🌄-Feeling the spiritual power of the fabulous Angkor's Temples in Cambodia.

🐜-Trying every insect food in Vietnam.

🚗-Getting my longest hitchhiking lift in Sahara desert, 1.260 km, crossing all Western Sahara.

🌅-Waking up at 4am and walk alone in the darkness for 2 hours to the highest dune in Moroccan Merzouga desert to watch the sunrise.

🎅-Spending my Christmas and New's Year eve in Mauritania, a 99% Muslim country.

⛵-Hitchhiking a 13 m boat in Capo Verde and cross the Atlantic Ocean for Salvador Da Bahia in Brasil, in 3 weeks of sailing, only 2 people aboard.

👣 - Crossing the 120km Chapada Diamantina in Brazil north to south by feet, with 5 days without seeing human being.

🗻-Trekking during 6 days for the 110km complete turn of Illampu mountain in Bolivia, reaching pass over 5000m, camping over 4600m, completing a 11.500m difference of altitude.

If you like food, Let's cook! I know a lot about food cause I'm a chef, and I can easily teach about all what I know. But I still have many things to learn as well!
If you like art, I like to meet some artist, or rather someone who works on to do something which come from his brain💡. I like to talk about art, going to exhibitions and why not make something together.
I wanna improve my Spanish and learn Arabic, Portuguese, Polish, Russian and any other languages too.
