Name: Jaime Rodriguez.

D.O.B.: December 20, 2986

Travel: My first journey was in Venezuela. I have now visited Turkey, Hungary, Romania, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Ljubjana, Zagreb, Novi Sad and Belgrade. This Chicano is living it up. Traveling! Meeting new people. Experiencing different cultures. Seeing places I've only seen in movies, T.V. and pictures. It is surreal at times.

I arrived in Turkey on March 5th and traveled until I had to come home for a personal reason on May 20th of 2008. I planned on going back August 2nd of last year, but got stuck at the airport. I have a bit of Eastern Europe to still cover once I go through the Balkans I will enter Greece and head West to Italy and Spain and France and there are several others. : ) Europe here I come!! When I can!

Schooling: I'm a graduate of Mark Keppel High School. I graduated fron Cal-State LA on June 9, 2007 with a degree in Social Science with an Option in Political Science. I am 20 with a degree. I spent the Fall of 2005 at San Francisco State University.

Future Career: I went to college with the intent to be High School History teacher. I feel that through education, social change can occur and that's why I want to teach. God know's it isn't for the money because in America, teachers are not met with respect financially. Now I am debating a career in law, law enforcement and politics. We'll see where my life takes me.

Life changing experience: In 2003, I attended the Brotherhood/Sisterhood camp formerly know as Anytown U.S. The program was provided my NCCJ. The National Conference for Community Justice, formerly know as The National Conference for Christians and Jews. It was a week long camp where race, gender, sexual orientation, class and a variety of other social issues were discussed.

Poetry: I've been writing poetry and performing spoken word since February 2003. Poetry is beautiful. When I rhyme and am in it, it's a natural high. I love it and I'm good at it too. I am confident in my abilites, not cocky. I havent been able to write lately because I dont really have the energy to put myself into because I have been consumed by school. The last poem I did was in May and that was because I had to perform at the May 1st Great American Boycott for Immigrant rights. I got down too. It was tough. I'm working on a piece right now. Hopefully I'll be done pretty soon.

Family: Family is the most important thing in my life. I was raised by, live with and love my dad. I have one sister and two nieces. Family is my everything, without their love, I would not be where I am and who I am today. One of my many goals is to make my family, above all, but also my people proud by being a true representation of the child of a single, hard-working father.

Food: I love eating. And when I say I love eating, I mean I love eating. I can get down. I like In and Out, tacos de carne, carnitas, pupusas, burritos, elote with butter and chile, frijoles, arroz con leche, chorizo con huevos o papas, huevos a la mexicana, huevos con nopales, nopales by themself, menudo, pocole, pan dulce, mole, but only my abuelita's mole, Marie Clanders German Chocolate and Strawberry pie and there's a lot more, but I'll eat almost anything. I like celery, tomatos, and cucumbers with lemon and salt. I like eating fruits too, like mango, watermelon, canteploe, coconut, pineapple, plums, strawberry, peaches, bananas, melon, apples, and there's more. My favorite ice cream is Mint N' Chip. Ice cream on top of a brownie is bomb. I like chocolate chip cookies. I don't drink soda, closest I come is horchata and Jamaica, but water is my drink of choice. Agua de melon is the stuff, no joke. Mexican hot chocolate is good tambien. Smoothies are good. I don't like cheese, olives and a few other things, but I'll eat or try anything for the most part.

Women: I am attracted to smart, strong, confident, beautiful women. I like women that are easy going. Being able to hold a conversation is a must. I'm honest when it comes to women. I show them me and either they like it or I'm not their type. I like a woman that can make fun of me. One that can take a joke. I want a woman I can be friends with. I look for honesty. Honesty in the sense of being true to themselves. I like sarcasm. A woman that knows what she wants.

I've never really have had a girlfriend. I've only liked two woman in my life.

Sports: I'm a Lakers fan and not just when they're winning. I like the Dodgers. My first Dodger game was on August 19, 2007. They won 4-3 against the Rockies. I love boxing, it's poetry in motion. I took a break from training to focus on school. I would like to pursue boxing for a while and see where it takes me. I want to be able to look back on my life when I am an old man and say, at least say that I tried. I guess we'll see. Whenever I speak to those that are younger than me, I always tell them that, "You never want to look back on your life and say, I wish I would have done this or that." But, we're not always able to do what we wish.

Boy Scouts: Troop 301. I was in the Boy Scouts from the 7th grade till the 10 grade. While I was in it, I enjoyed it very much. The camping, the knowledge that I had recieved and the bonds that I made were great. I left because the Troop had changed. I have some good memories from going to summer camps and getting merit badges to hiking to volunteer work.

Dislikes: Spoiled people. Bad food. School. Horrible poets and awful poetry. Wack music and movies. Cheese.

General information: My favorite color is green. I am proud of my heritage. I love hip-hop. Music is an art I enjoy very much. I enjoy going to the movies. I'm a movie buff. I grew out my hair for about a year and a half, but got tired of it and cut it off. Having long hair is drama. I like colorful, artistic paintings. I have green eyes. I enjoy Mexican, Chicano, Latin American and American history.I enjoy sleeping. I like animals and nature, I think the world untouched is beautiful. I like hiking and camping. I feel a sense of pride to work with my hands. I am conscious of social, political and economic issues. I like coversing with people. I also like to just observing people, we're interesting beings. There's a lot more. I'll add as I keep on coming on here.
