Overview
About Me
I'm an 18 year old College student living in a small village just outside of Hull (the current city of culture).
I am studying Maths, English and Politics and plan to go on to work in business and management once I have passed my exams. (hopefully).
Great lover of music, literature and film and spend much of my time developing my knowledge and skills surrounding said disciplines. I write poetry and prose creatively in my spare time with the hope of becoming published, as well as playing the guitar and drums, and watching and reading as many stories as my spare time allows.
My passion for storytelling makes meeting new people extremely enjoyable to me, as it is a chance to hear tales from the numerous walks of life that differ from my own, and ultimately learn from and grown through the people I meet and hopefully befriend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm from a family of six siblings sharing is far from an alien concept to me. As such Couch Surfing is the perfect resource to allow somewhat young like me, with limited means to get and give the most to a global community.
Right now a major use of Couch Surfing for me is to facilitate my work experience placements before next year. A number of these will take place in cities far from my own, and transport and living costs threaten to prevent me from being able to attend, learn and develop my CV.
Hopefully in later years I will be able t return the favours to hosts once I have my own accommodation, as well as exploring the more international aspects of the site.

Music, Movies, and Books
Film:
- Anything by Chris Nolan; Memento, Inception, The Prestige all home runs.
- Whiplash and Inside Llewyn Davis personal faves due to the drumming and musical crossover- Sing Street another musical stunner.
- the Grand Budapest Hotel, the Big Short, anything with Robin Williams, Star Wars and LOTR (obviously).
Music:
- the Beatles, Talking Heads, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Springsteen, Paul Simon; all oldies, all goldies.
- Alt-J, Bon Iver, Courteeners, Mac DeMarco, Ben Howard, Bleachers, MGMT; more modern choices.
- Alot of hip-hop, people like Lamar, BigKrit, J.Cole, Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean and Post Malone.
- Alot of film music and sountracks.
Books:
- The Song of Ice and Fire series; even better than the show (and their older brother LOTR)
- The Sense of an Ending, is a great short little book that covers an whole lifetime of mistakes and small victories.
- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy; nothing better than Douglas Adam' sense of humour.
- 1984
- Poetry by Larkin, Armitage, O'Hara, Billy Collins among others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Still young and hoping this box will change over time, but up till now teaching myself the guitar is probably the thing I am most proud of. Making the decision to Ebay an old Yamaha and show myself the ropes, or strings, has shown me what a bit of go get and determination can do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation,co-operation and friendship.
Hopefully my bio paints a picture of someone who loves to learn and conversate and make new connections with new people. I hope I can be an interesting and entertaining presence and am more than happy to help out in any way a host wishes; I am not unused to paying my way.
