About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to have a good time

ABOUT ME

My name is James and I'm from Long Beach, California. I quit my job at 27 so that I could start traveling and I absolutely LOVED my lifestyle! I had little to no money, very few possessions and sometimes no place to sleep, but I constantly found myself with a genuine smile on my face. I felt like I could stop a ticking time bomb just by talking to it.

I'm back home now doing the normal job. There were certain things I missed about being home and amongst family that couldn't be replaced. I had my fun run.

PHILOSOPHY

As often as I can, The Golden Rule

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I surf, and I attend CS events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some incredible people on here! I've been to places that Lonely Planet doesn't know about. I've had hosts connect me with their friends so I could stay with them or travel with them. CS absolutely improves the traveling experience.

Interests

being outdoors, writing, fruits and veggies, yoga, making videos, making food, finding good music, dreams, watching the sunrise, physical activities, rambling, walking around, beginning meditation ..usually just along for the ride.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - adult contemporary, dance, top 40, foreign, indie, electronic, ... not heavy metal or most rap :)

Movies - cheesy love stories, stand up comedies, documentaries.. no blood and guts stuff I don't need nightmares.

Books - I couldn't put down Da Vinci Code, same goes for The Beach, I've read a lot of Agatha Christie, and random special interests like earth, food (Omnivore's Dilemma thing about corn was so interesting!! haha) and the environment or fitness. And magazines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

sacrificing security for adventure

Teach, Learn, Share

hm tough to pinpoint but I think there's much to gain from simply interacting with other people.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom
