About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to look back on my life when I'm on my deathbed and know that I lived.

ABOUT ME

I was born Josh Savage in Portsmouth, England on 1st June, 1991. Since then I have lived locally around the surrounding area, but have settled in a town close by called, Fareham. I'm currently 21 years old and have finally flown the nest, living with my best friend, in a two bedroomed flat.

I studied Photography, Film studies, Communications and Psychology at A level college. They played a part in moulding the man I am today, via the amazing people that I met during this time.

I was an introvert young man in what feels like a previous life, since I have grown into a confident, independent young adult looking to seize as many opportunities life presents to me.

I was a barman for a little under a year in a pub called, The Brass Monkey, it was there I developed a keen ability to socialise with all kinds of people from many different walks of life.

I'm a keen athlete and enjoy a number of sports, but my favourite is football/soccer. I have played for a number of local teams at different levels, I played for my college 11 and 5 aside teams. Little fun fact, I have played in every single position except from centre back!

I'm a keen writer, I love to broaden my horizons through reading other peoples work. I have written poetry, song lyrics and a few other pieces. I have recently found success selling some poetry I have written. It is a good release for me and a way to express my experiences in the story I am living.

Other than those points, I'm your typical young lad who is up for adventures, seeing the world and meeting amazing people along the way. :)

PHILOSOPHY

When I was young, around 14, I first started writing lyrics and poetry and I wrote a verse that really made me stop and think. I have two lines from that verse that makes me want to be able to look on later in my life and believe I followed by own "philosophy"
The lines were:

As your life continues to diminish, you can't choose where you start in this world but decide where you finish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After recently moving into my new flat in Fareham, Hampshire, I am hoping I will find stages over the year to host some fellow couchsurfers. I hope I will be able to offer my home and show them the sights in my hometown, Portsmouth.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently had my first couchsurfing experiences February 2011, I traveled to Milan, Italy and stayed with the wonderfully friendly Isaac and Ahoo. Isaac and Ahoo showed me and my friend (Peterbudba) around the beautiful city and also fed and looked after us in their city. An amazing experience, I also stayed with a group of Erasmus students in Valencia, the people there were quite honestly people I know I will dearly miss the company of and the family like atmosphere! It is easily one of the greatest things I have been apart of in my life, each student brought a new experience. A special thanks to Carlos and Sara who showed us the wonderful sights of Valencia, but also the others for making me feel so... Amazing :)
