About Me

CURRENT MISSION

figuring out my current mission

ABOUT ME

Many projects on the go. My son (Simeon, 4 yrs) is now starting school. My wife (Melissa) is full of life and ideas and has a great job, and I'm still in the post-PhD phase of sorting out a career. Quite busily, although often in too many directions all at once.

PHILOSOPHY

...something about the categorical imperative, the synthetic a priori and cosmological antinomies...or something...lefty loosey, righty tighty says it best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll be happy to show you the glories of this nation. Niagara Falls is a short drive. Haven't been active with CS for a few years though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed at several places in Europe a few years ago, became consumed with parenting and post-PhD until recently, so, ready to host now!

Interests

As for music, too much is not enough. Not too interested in name-dropping, card-punching, finger-pointing, hob-knobbing, but I'm afraid I could have been accused of such. I like to canoe, jog, do yoga sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly Italian stuff these days. Some German and Dutch stuff too. Kids books. Lotsa kids books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer I guided canoe trips in a national park and I slept outside every night. No tent. It felt like I was becoming nomadic. Then my shoes broke and I really felt nomadic as I carried a canoe on my head with bare feet for several kms at a time. That was the same trip when I saw a bear walk by while others were sleeping. Then I moved to NYC and life was different. The bears weren't as friendly anymore and I definitely needed to wear shoes everyday. Tents aren't even a good idea in that place.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Cuba, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
