About Me
ABOUT ME
I am a quiet person - some would say too quiet - and due to that it is not always very easy to get to know me. I am not really proud of that, but...to recognize it is an important first step, right? But I believe once this first barrier is trespassed people tend to agree that I am a nice person. I'd much rather hang out in a bar or any other nice place chatting with friends than going out to some chaotic disco, yet I agree that sometimes you can also have a great time in such places!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I found out about CouchSurfing when I was living in Berlin and one of my flatmates told me that one of his friends was travelling around the world doing couch surfing. I am currently living on my own in Turrialba, Costa Rica, and there is couch that is ok for a couple of nights.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've hosted people in São Paulo, surfed couches in Europe and met a whole bunch of interesting people on the way. CouchSurfing Experience Status: very positive!
Interests
Of course travelling is on the top of the list! Right now I am pretty much into photography, which goes really well with travelling. So I guess photography is my current hobby.
I also love to play guitar and really enjoy a nice chat about life experiences, point of views on cultural and deep-meaning matters, movies and music. I am not that much into sports, as I pretty much suck in all of them. I do like outdoor activities such as hiking though. There is no better feeling than walking for hours on the mountains.
I've been working on my cooking skills and I really enjoy doing that, specially if I am cooking for more people. I always try something local when travelling and sometimes I try to reproduce the dish when I get back home.

Music, Movies, and Books
I just love music! I could spend hours just listening to pretty much every kind of music: bossa nova, pop songs, heavy metal and rock variations, jazz and blues (I am getting to know these better), classical, etc. I really don't like techno music, but besides that everything is listenable.
I am definetly into movies! I think you can find amazing titles under any genre, even some of those really really really stupid comedies can be good. Whenever someone asks me about my favorite movie the answer given has been the same for some years now: Dogville. Simply amazing!
I do not read that much and I am definitely not proud of that. The problem is that I am a slow reader and it just gets to my nerves to see myself stuck on the same chapter for days! I recently read some works from José Saramago and Hemingway and I really liked them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most unforgettable things I've ever seen was the fireworks in London during new year celebrations. I was on Waterloo bridge and had an amazing view of London Eye, Big Ben and everything else. When the fireworks started it felt like everybody was in silence and I got hypnotized. It was really incredible! But my best trip so far was to the Argentinian Patagônia in 2010. I hiked for long hours to get to the Fitz Roy Mountain. The great view of the valley plus the feeling of achievement for getting there after so much effort was awesome!
