About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get a job/apply to grad school.

ABOUT ME

A main driving force in my life is my fascination of the world around me, whether creations of nature or man. I love wondering through forests or in moutains. I grew up on a small island between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia and have always had nature easily accessible to me so I tend to end up wondering around places like I did when I was a kid. But if I'm stuck in a city I enjoy exploring the concrete world in search of Skyscrapers and modern Architecture, or anything that can humble me. I'm a pretty modest, open minded and optimistic person. I havent really started travelling until recently, I moved away from home to go to school in the US, and now I'm studying in Germany for a year. I think travelling is an awesome way to gain perspective and not travelling can easily leads to ignorance. I'm not a big party person but that doesn't mean I don't like celebrating from time to time with some good beers and good friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host people as much as I can, when I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Again I just signed up, so I dont really have any previous CS experiences, except that a few friends of mine have used CS and said it worked well.

Interests

I enjoy learning about all technical things, Cars, Boats, Architecture. I brew my own beer, and am currently brewing a Mead which is ageing in the bottle now. I listen to all kinds music, more specifically electronic, hip hop, house, indie and folk. I love Snowboaring, but it's lame that the Alps have been getting so little snow, where as back at home its been a record year for snow fall! I think Camping and Hiking some of the best things you can do to redeem yourself after a summer of working indoors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer I was visiting a friend in Chicago, and we rode bikes from her house out to the lake shore then followed the bike path from the north down into downtown. The lights of Chicago are beautiful at night, and the whole time we rode we could see the giant skyscrapers slowly getting closer and growing bigger and bigger, all the while twinkling and reflecting in the lake michigan, until finally all you could see was the magnificent city towering over you like a mountain of lights. It's a pretty amazing thing to see, and if you're ever in Chicago, it's one of the best things to do.
