CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is visit some different events while also catching up with some best friends and family. I love art and community building so I want to participate in some events this year. I am also a professional photographer who is excited to capture some great new moments and pictures.

ABOUT ME

What attracts me to photography is how it builds communities and keep people together. With out my camera I wouldn't have been motivated to go so many places or meet so many people as I have. Please check out some of my recent work at www.facebook.com/josephjsherrock

On my weekends I work as a Zip Line Tour guide on Maui, hanging out in the Eucalyptus trees and introducing guests to the island. During the week I am a cook at a health food store. But my favorite activities include yoga, dancing, relaxing at the beach, biking, listening to music, and writing.

I wonder how much there is for me to know and am humbled by everything that I don't.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am contributing my story and passion to the community. I want to help create fun and rewarding experiences for hosts as well as travelers so that traveling can become more of a cultural exchange rather than purely taking.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am friends with some who host, and they make me feel good about this community.

I've also hosted a couple in Maui and was able to play tour guide for another surfer. Both positive experiences that I value greatly.

Interests

I am interested in collaborative art projects and am inspired by music and adventures. On any given day I likely to be taking pictures, relaxing at the beach, or writing at home.

Movies: Star Wars VII, Mic Macs, Fight Club

Books: Ishmael, One Flew the Cookoes Nest, Electric Koolaid Acid Test, On The Road. Right now I am reading "Even Cow Girls Get The Blues" by Tom Robbins. After that I want to read "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can share my photography and cook up some nice meals.

I have positively good vibes and common courtesy.
