ABOUT ME
I am currently backpacking Europe because I am in quarter life crisis. No seriously, backpacking and traveling the world has always been my dream. However, I've always made excuses after excuses why I couldn't do it. Whether it was school, relationships, work, I always told myself 'I will get to it later.'
Well, here I am. About a month ago, I decided no more excuses and more traveling. My goal is to meet different people, experience different cultures, and learn, learn, and learn some more every single day. And what better way to do this than traveling the world?
As a first time backpacker this summer, I hope to not fall on my face every day. However, I am excited more than anything to meet different people and experience how life is lived in different parts of the world. Every single day of my trip.
PHILOSOPHY
The traveler soon learns that the only way to come to know a city, to form a mental map of it, however provisional, and begin to find his or her own way around it, is to visit it alone, preferably on foot, and then become as lost as one possibly can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Still pretty new at this, only having participated for just a little over one month. But my hosts have been amazing thus far, every single one of them, so it's my time to host, and hope to show same level of hospitality once I get back.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had AMAZING experiences so far. CS really shows me there is still so much good in this world.
Interests
Running, snowboarding, riding bikes thru busy streets, reading outside under a slight breeze, drinking beers, cooking something new, trying a new restaurant.
I also recently fell in love with black and white photography. I envy those who can take a beautiful picture with such ease. I would love to learn how I can become like them. If you can help me with this, I would love to buy you a beer!

Music, Movies, and Books
Listen to almost anything. Although I do tend to listen to jazz, indie, classic rock and soul more than others.
Read almost nonfiction exclusively. I love reading biographies, books on running, and books with interesting subjects. Entire book about one single bottle of wine? That's my kind of book.
Watch whatever is on television. I do want to admit "When Harry Met Sally" is my favorite movie of all time. A classic!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing North Korea up close when I was a kid.
Cross country road trip across the USA in a beater with 3 childhood friends.
Sleeping in the middle of Sahara desert in a nomad village, watching hundreds of stars shine oh so brightly, in the stillness of a beautiful night.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy little things in life. The small, winding, cobblestone streets off to the side. The minute, intricate carvings on the side of a cathedral. Old couple, sitting in a bench, under the tree, quietly holding hands as they watch people walk by. These little things are what makes our world so interesting. Something that you won't find in a guidebook and something that you can easily miss. And because of these little things, I travel, and I enjoy traveling that much more.
