I'm originally from Cork, Ireland. I live approximately 30 minutes from the city centre. In Lagos for the Summer. Happy to meet up with travellers, enjoy a drink and show them around.
I enjoy being active and enjoy a wide variety of sports, martial arts and activities.
Also being a type 1 diabetic since the age of 7, being active is the best way for me to keep my glucose levels in check. It can make traveling a little more challenging but nothing insurmountable.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I've had an interest in traveling and seeing new places since I was younger but never did as much as I would have liked too. My experiences over the Summer of 2015 have encouraged me to meet as many new people and learn as much as I can from everyone of them. Also, I can sometimes be very shy, so I feel surfing is a great way for me to overcome this as I can find meeting large groups in hostels intimidating.

Intereses

My interests include snowboarding (Level 1 instructor), surfing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, mountain biking, skateboarding/longboarding, walking, hiking and swimming.
I also practice Capeoira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art and occasionally yoga.
I also enjoy film, music, photography, videography, reading, drawing/sketching, learning languages (very slowly) and playing drums.

Música, películas y libros

I enjoy listening to a pretty wide variety of music and I'm always open to discovering new material. Some of my favourites include And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA), they're an awesome postrock group from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Rodriguez (thanks Mogli for introducing me), Rage Against The Machine, Feeder, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys.... this is just a small sample, I won't bore you by listing all of them.

I'm not really able to host as I am just back from abroad so I'm staying with my parents. If you can not find a host then I will try to accommodate you. If we meet up I would show you around the city and explain its history as best I can. If you prefer nature, there is lots to see where I live and a short drive away. Let me know if there's something you would like to see or do.
If you would like to learn how to practice Capeoira then I would happily oblige, it's a lot of fun trust me. I can also possibly teach you how to Irish dance but that may require one or two drinks first :P.

I would be more than happy to cook for my hosts so they can relax, or if there's any DIY or chores they need help doing.
