ABOUT ME

¡Hola! Yo soy profesor de instituto de español e inglés y Carla es trabajadora social; ella ha trabajado en un hospital durante los últimos seis años y yo en distintas escuelas. Cuando estamos en Barcelona, básicamente nos gusta estar con nuestros amigos, con la familia y sobretodo con nuestros gatos, que son los reyes de la casa. Somos amantes de los animales, la naturaleza, sentarnos en una mesa con gente y charlar... Nos vuelve locos la música, la fotografia y las series, pero especialmente viajar; en los últimos años hemos podido descubrir lugares tan increíbles como Tailandia, Malasia, Myanmar, Senegal o Marruecos, en pequeños viajes en vacaciones. Hace mucho tiempo que nos sentimos atraídos por conocer América Latina y nuestras antípodas, Nueva Zelanda y Australia! Tenemos ganas de vivir una experiencia distinta y emprender un viaje largo, así que hemos hecho una pausa con la intención de recorrer una parte del mundo!

Nuestra aventura empieza el 21 de septiembre , cuando aterrizaremos en La Habana, Cuba. La intención es poder recorrer la isla en un par de semanas, hasta el 10 de octubre, en que volamos a Bogotá, Colombia, des de donde queremos recorrer la costa caribeña hasta llegar a Tayrona , esperando encontrar la Ciudad Perdida! Nuestra intención es seguir avanzando por Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile... Tenemos tantos sitios y lugares que nos gustaría descubrir! Soñamos despiertos pensando en las Galápagos, la Isla de Pascua... Y Joan especialmente en coronar picos como el Chimborazo o los Ojos del Salado, estamos emocionados!
Nuestra idea de viaje está basada en estar en contacto con la gente, nos encanta conocer personas nuevas por naturaleza, y en nuestras experiencias anteriores sabemos que el valor de aprender de un lugar con sus gentes es incalculable. Por esto amamos la idea de poder compartir una parte a través del Couchsurfing!

Hello! I am a Spanish and English high-school and Carla is a social worker; she has worked in a hospital for the last six years and I have worked in different schools. We love animals, nature, and sitting around a table with people ... We're crazy about music, photography and TV series, and most of all, we love travelling; in recent years we have discovered amazing places such as Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Senegal and Morocco in short holiday trips. For a long time, we’ve been willing to visit and discover South America as well as New Zealand and Australia. We want to live a different experience and a long journey, so we are taking a break in order to travel a small part of the world!
Our adventure begins on September 21, when we land in Havana, Cuba. We’d like to visit the island in a couple of weeks, until October 10, when we’ll fly to Bogota, Colombia. We’d like to go across the Caribbean coast until Tayrona, hoping to find the Lost City! Our intention is to move forward through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile ... There are so many sites we would like to find out! We daydream thinking about the Galapagos, Easter Island ... and especially Joan is also looking forward to doing some mountain climbing in peaks such as Chimborazo or the Ojos del Salado. We are really excited!
Our idea of travelling is based on being in touch with people since we love meeting new people, and from our past experience we know that learning from one place with its locals is unbelievable. This is why we love the idea of sharing a part of this trip on Couchsurfing!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Our hosting experience is still pretty short, we started really excited a couple of years ago, had this wonderful experience, and then our jobs just kept us going with no time for a long period. Now is the time to change that after we've been hosted by lovely people in Thailand and Malaysia for the past two summers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No hemos tenido muchas por motivos de espacio, vivimos en un piso muy pequeño! Pero todas las que hemos tenido han sido geniales y esperamos no sólo conocer gente durante el viaje sino también poder acoger más gente en el futuro.

We haven't had many since we live in a small flat but all of them have been amazing experiences. We are really looking forward to getting to know many people in our trip and being able to host more people in the future.

Como dijimos anteriormente, nos encantan los animales, la naturaleza y disfrutar de la gente; también nos gusta mucho la fotografía, la música y las series de TV.
