Overview
About Me
I am a grad student currently finishing up a degree in mental health counseling. I live with my partner in Portland, Oregon, where I've resided for 18 years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After graduating in June 2018, I plan on making my first trip to Europe. I am in the beginning stages of deciding where I'd like to go! My interest in traveling is based on a desire to understand and connect with other people, broaden my conceptualizations, and shake things up a bit. I like the idea of getting to know an area through local perspectives, and giving back in whatever ways I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: first aid kit; my gay banjo; patti smith; dead moon.
Movies: dirty dancing; the sound of music; the birdcage; many, many documentaries!
Books: I've been reading countless books on counseling theory for the past 3 years. Before that, I really enjoyed the Hunger Games, Murakami, and Mary Oliver, to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I biked 500 miles from Portland, Oregon to San Francisco, California, solo, with very little bike touring experience. I told friends I was at least going on an "overnight" trip, and we would see how far I could make it. Well, after a number of obstacles, and a gorgeous route along the coastline, I can say that I made it to my destination!
