About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I can't host anybody now, but I could take a ride in São Paulo with you if you wanna know some points of this crazy city! I don't speak english very well, but I can try it - mais je parle très bien le français et j'aimerais le pratiquer, volontiers! (:

---

I may be a little shy when meeting somebody for the first time, but usually only in the beginning, because I do like to talk, to laugh, and to get to know people and cultures.

As a student of languages, literature and arts in general, I think that travelling and seeing the world is essential for really understanding my objects of study and challenging my personal opinions and attitudes.

Interests

reading and writing, cooking with and for friends, just walking around in the city or the nature, visiting museums, swimming, dancing and singing (even if out-of-tune!), meeting friends for a beer or coffee...

Music, Movies, and Books

It's difficult for me to choose my favorite books... I love Brazilian literature (the novels of Machado de Assis, Guimarães Rosa, Clarice Lispector and the poetry of João Cabral de Melo Neto and Murilo Mendes, for instance) and the contemporary Portuguese literature (the likes of Gonçalo Tavares, Adília Lopes, valter hugo mãe...). Recently I discovered African literature (in Portuguese and French) and I'm in love with this continent!

I love music and it's a pity I can't play any instrument... but I know how to appreciate it well! ;)
I like plenty of Brazilian music styles (mainly samba and choro) and also rock/indie rock, jazz, la chanson française and generally those that have a lot of swing!

Also, I love plastic arts and it's no problem for me to like Bruegel and Picasso and Rebecca Horn at the same time! ;)
