Overview
About Me
I'm a Colombian biologist, currently doing a PhD in Biochemistry at Purdue University, in the US. Since I was a child I have been fascinated by animals and plants so I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to study living beings, and now, I study the aging eye in fruit flies :)
I was born in Bolivia but lived most of my childhood in Colombia. Going back and forth between La Paz and Bogota gave me a passion for travelling and appreciating other cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being raised both in Bolivia and Colombia, I learned about the importance of cultural exchange and that every culture can teach you something new every day of your life. If you decide to learn something, no matter how small, from any experience, then when you travel and meet new people, for sure you'll grow as a person in a way you'll never be able to just staying home. That's why I joined CS.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music though I prefer alternative rock and synth pkl. I also like latin rhythms such as salsa and merengue! As of movies, I'd say I prefer sci-fi films although one romantic movie once in a while is good. As of books I really enjoyed Brave New World and Gulliver's travel.
Favorite movie: the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy for sure
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As soon as I turned 18 I took a semester off college and backpacked all the way from Bogota, Colombia to La Paz, Bolivia (the city where I was born), so I got to know several places in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. I stayed there for six months.
