About Me

My name is Juan. It is a very common name in my home country, but I like it :). When you are within a group of friends in Colombia and someone call the name "Juan" from a distance, almost every male in the group turns their face to see who is calling. However, there is one way to distinguish yourself... you have to have a second name and mine in Esteban. Anyway, "Juan Esteban" is also a common name that many parents just decided to give to their kids of my generation. I like to be called Juan and I call my friends like that as well. It can be confusing, but it is a funny thing and it is solved by just giving a particular nickname. During the last 8 years I have been living, studying and "scientifically researching" abroad in 5 countries. I have known many lifestyles and point of views and learnt from rare and great experiences. That's also how I realized the name "Juan" is also very common in other countries. You can find people called João, Iván, John, Jan, Ioannis, Jon, Hans, Johann, Xoán.... The female version is not uncommon, there are many Juanas, Ioannas, Janas and Johanas. I like to continue meeting with interesting people and try to consolidate good friendships. With some of them in their countries I have tried typical and original local food, being immerse in amazing landscapes and confronted by new ways of thinking. Anyway, I consider there is still a lot to discover and adventure around this globe.
