About Me

Proud Angelino. Born and raised in Los Angeles. I studied Economics at California State University of Long Beach. I'm very outgoing, I like enjoying life. I'm a traveler at heart but given that I'm just getting my career started I haven't had the opportunity to travel far. Though when it comes to California, I'm a pro. I'm a complete sports snob, football, basketball, soccer(futbol), baseball, hockey, tennis, golf, rugby, any sports generally, I guess I see it as art. I love music, I always say "I don't know anybody that knows more music than me", which might not be true but I have a strong feeling i'm right about that one. Oh, and I love learning stuff, addicted to knowledge, I use google like crazy for that same reason.

I'm a very positive person, very few things get me in a bad mood and that's because I only give that type of importance to things that really matter. My friends tell me i'm very honest, though I never label myself as that because in my mind I'm just being a good friend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to Couchsurfing. A friend told me about the of the site and it seemed cool. I plan on traveling a lot in the near future so I decided to give it a try. My next trip is a road trip to the northwest and then to Yellowstone National Park. Hopefully my next trip after that will be outside the country.

My living situation isn't very accommodating right now but I definitely plan on hosting once I have proper housing. Which should happen within the next 6 months.

Interests

Sports, Music, People, Travel, Business and Finance (yes i actually like reading that stuff), abstract concepts since I enjoy deep thinking, Technology, different cultures, and constant personal growth.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music depends on what day it is and the weather. Really I listen to a lot of stuff but lately I've been listening to a lot of ODESZA, Flume, Snakehips, Ryan Hemsworth, that type of stuff. There are days where I'll listen to a lot of rap, other days I'll listen to some Zep and classic rock, other days I'll listen to The Strokes and The Growlers and I swear I enjoy all this music equally.

I'm part of the Quentin Tarantino Cult. Favorite movie is Pulp Fiction and the rest of his work pretty much rounds out my top 5. Other movies I really like, Zombieland, Juno, 300, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Thank You for Smoking, V for Vendetta, City of God (awesome Brazilian film), Little Miss Sunshine, Friday Night Lights, Training Day, and a lot more.

I'm not a big reader, hate that, but I like the classics. Picture of Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein, Huckleberry Finn, I loved S.E. Hinton as a kid Rumble Fish was my favorite but I read all of her stuff in Middle School.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scored a 660 on the Math portion of the SAT back when I was in high school, I took the test hungover on about 3 hours of sleep, forgot my calculator so I couldn't go through these problems as fast as I should have, and I went to an inner city underprivileged school so I didn't get any SAT Prep whatsoever. I didn't even know people prepped for the SAT until I got to college. I'm confident I would've gotten the 800 with my calculator, damn.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to play poker and i'm not talking about rules, that's learned in 5 minutes. I've been playing poker for 10 years, started playing with 30 something year olds when I was around 15 so I've acquired a few moves over the years.

I want to learn a few languages, german, Portuguese, and french. I'd also like to play the trumpet, for some reason I feel I'd be an awesome trumpet player.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories and experiences. I lived in Mexico for a few years, as a boy, and I was raised in inner city Los Angeles so I have plenty to talk about. I'm a very savvy Angelino, I know the city better than the average local so if you want to talk LA i'm your man. But the most important thing I can share with hosts is my positive energy, it's all about the vibes.
