About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live everyday to the fullest. No matter what.

ABOUT ME

I'm straightforward, easy-going, open-minded, opinionated and I like to meet new people, visit different places and get to know other cultures!

Although I'm young, I've had already plenty of travel experience; I've lived as an exchange student in the Netherlands for about a year. Besides my year abroad in Europe during 2008, I also enrolled in a summer program at the University of Liverpool during the '09 summer, at the end of that same year I was part of an International College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, USA. I spent three months there working in one of the many amusement parks! I was also an intern for 4 months in Berlin and I studied German for 2 months in Düsseldorf.

Nowadays I'm a lawyer and I work full-time as a Consultant in one of the Big 4 companies.

PHILOSOPHY

Make life worth living, for myself and for those surrounding me, thus, Carpe Diem - very cliché but true!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got to know the project in 2008 through a friend during a trip to Austria, there she introduced me to a friend of hers whom she got to know through CS! During our stay in Vienna he showed us the city and hung out with us. I could say that it was one of the best experiences in travels I've ever had. Now, as member, I intend to help others and to show them the beauties of the place I live in, either by hosting or going out with them!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned above, I've surfed in Austria, and then in Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Iceland, the Netherlands and I've already hosted some CS friends at my place in the Netherlands and in Brazil! Since I got back from my exchange program, I've hosted people from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Russia, France, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, USA, Israel...

Interests

I love reading, really, almost all kinds of books.
I also like to watch movies and to go out with my friends, if I'm hosting you I'll try to show some nice places in town. And if I'm the hosted one I can do pretty much everything by myself, though it would be nice to have some company and someone to show me around. Besides my reading interests, I love to travel and, If I could, I would be always traveling! While away, I like to get to know the people and the culture of the place that I am in.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like police and mystery books; I've read all Sherlock Holmes collection and I'm about to finish Agatha Christie's, besides her, I like John Grishan and David Baldacci as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm from a part of Brazil which people are known as narrow-minded beings, when I first decided to go away for one year I couldn't believe that I was really about to do it. When I arrived in the Netherlands I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how cultures could differ just like people are different. First I thought that just to visit the Netherlands was enough but then I was still that narrow-minded boy from northeastern Brazil, after I upgraded myself to a half Brazilian-half Dutch I decided to take the chance and travel. And it was amazing. To see the Red Light District in Amsterdam; the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the Parliament in London; the Croatian landscapes and the defense walls of Dubrovnik; the beauty of the Bosphorus, the Hagia Sofya and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul; Las Ramblas in Barcelona. And plenty of other beautiful places that I'm too lazy to write about here! =D

As I wrote that a few years ago, now, I would say tht one of the most amazing things I've ever done was to climb Mount Sinai and sleep in a Bedouin camp in the Jordanian desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know if I'm good enough to be a teacher, but I know that I can be a good student. :) I wish I could learn with people about their culture, their costumes and about the place that they are from. Also, I hope I'm able to teach a little bit about the place I live in. And I would be glad to share about my personal experiences!
