About Me

I'm Juan Ernesto from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I have lived in this city since I was born, but luckily I've got the chance to travel around the world since I was very little.
I live with my mother and my two dogs, have a girlfriend for two years now, I study Managment of culture and Arts in the University and work as a DJ among other freelance gigs.
I obviously love music, many forms of art, I like cooking, gardening, history, technology, "the future", politics, sports... I can talk almost about anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm an outgoing person but can find a hard time when trying to socialize if I'm completely alone. So I realized it could be the perfect way to get to know cities from the locals perspective and also get to know some people without having to step out so abruptly of my comfort zone.

Interests

I really amaze myself everyday at the amount of stuff I can get caught up in. Yesterday it was the variation in the number of countries in Europe along the twentieth century, today it was how Great Britain was joined to the mainland during the ice ages, tomorrow it may be the football team of Tuvalu, I never know where the internet could take me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many indie rock band from the 00s like arctic monkeys, the strokes, Fran Ferdinand, etc.
I like electronic music, mostly house, deep house, everything with smooth and thick basses and silky and stylish synths.
I also like many band from every decade since the 60s.
I really don't read a lot, but I have read my share of classic world novels, and Argentinian classics.
I love independent films, and binge watch movies every year at the BAFICI festival here in Buenos Aires.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16 years old I created a facebook group opposing the appointing of a new ministry of education in the city of BuenosAires (he was really backwards, fascist) and got like 30000 members in a week, and made apparenceas in many national newspapers and radios.
(At the time facebook was still novelty, and the fact that I was still in high school was also surprising)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my "knowledge" in a pretty wide range of topics. I can tell long stories about a lot of stuff, and I mean a lot.
I can cook some of my specialitys, and bring some of my home to yours.
