My name is Juan and I'm 28 years old. I'm a doctor and I'm currently doing my residency in pediatrics, but overall my passion is to travel and meet new people and cultures. I strongly believe that traveling only brings you positive things and stepping out of your confort zone (even just going to the town next to yours), is gonna allow you to grow on the inside and clean up your mind.

I have plenty of hobbies, which I use to jump from one to another so I don't get bored. I love to play the guitar (amateur level / having some beers with friends level, but I enjoy it as if I was Jimi Hendrix) and therefore almost any music genre (flamenco, rock, heavy metal, classical music, hip hop, techno, indie, salsa, bachata, ska and a log etc), photography, playing basketball, cooking (italian cuisine stole my heart long ago), skiing, reading and cinema of course, there was a time when I used to skate a lot with my longboard (maybe someday I will start again), martial arts (I've practiced Kung Fu and Wing Chun)...

I really enjoy time with my friends, have some beers at a bar, sitting in a park to talk or going to the most weird festivals, although I also enjoy loneliness and me time. I'm a very curious person and I'm always open to learn something new and to listen to a different opinion.

Me llamo Juan y tengo 28 años. Soy médico y actualmente estoy formándome como pediatra, pero ante todo mi pasión es viajar y conocer gente y culturas nuevas. Creo fervientemente que viajar únicamente aporta cosas buenas, y que salir de tu zona de confort (aunque sea para acercarte al pueblo de al lado) no va a hacer otra cosa sino que permitirte evolucionar y enriquecerte.

Tengo bastantes hobbies, los cuales uso para ir saltando de uno a otro según me vaya aburriendo. Me encanta tocar la guitarra (nivel amateur/de cervezas con los amigos, pero yo lo disfruto como si fuese Jimi Hendrix) y por ende, la música en casi todo su amplio espectro (flamenco, rock, heavy metal, música clásica, hip hop, techno, indie, salsa, bachata, ska y un largo etc) , la fotografía, el baloncesto, la cocina (sobre todo la italiana, que me robó el corazón hace un tiempo), el esquí, por supuestisisisimo la lectura y el cine, tuve una época en la que patinaba mucho con mi longboard (quizá algún día lo retome), las artes marciales (he practicado Kung Fu y Wing Chun)....

Disfruto como el que más saliendo con mis amigos de fiesta, de cervezas, a un parque a charlar o a los festivales más estrambóticos, aunque también me gusta gozar de tranquilidad y soledad de cuando en cuando. Soy una persona muy inquieta y estoy siempre dispuesto a aprender algo nuevo y a escuchar una opinión distinta a la mía.

Creo que Couchsurfing es una de las mejores maneras que hay para viajar. Cuando viajas es imprescindible intentar introducirte y mezclarte con la cultura del lugar que visitas, no solo estudiándote su historia y fechas importantes, sino relacionándote con su gente y viviendo experiencias de primera mano. Ver un lugar desde un bus es lo mismo que entrar a GoogleMaps desde tu casa. Por eso creo que Couchsurfing ofrece una oportunidad perfecta (aparte de ahorrarte un poco de dinero que, seamos sinceros, a todos nos viene bien) para sacarle el máximo jugo a tu experiencia de viaje, conectándote con locales dispuestos a hacerte sentir como en casa.

I think Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to travel around. When you are traveling the most important thing trying to experience and understand the culture of the place you're visiting. And to achieve this is not enough with just studying its history and important dates, you also have to try to relate with its people and live first hand experiences. Watching a city from a bus roof is the same as entering GoogleMaps from your house. That's why I think Couchsurfing offers a unique opportunity, because (apart from allowing you to save some money which, lets be honest, is always a good thing) it makes you squeeze your travel experience at maximum level, connecting you with locals willing to make you feel like home.

Interests

Realmente me gusta hacer de todo y estoy abierto a cualquier actividad que entre dentro de mis posibilidades (tanto físicas como mentales), pero como todo el mundo, tengo algunas preferencias. La medicina me interesa en todos sus campos (por razones obvias), también disfruto con el cine y la lectura (aunque no tengo tanto tiempo para dedicarles como me gustaría), el baloncesto, las artes marciales, el tenis y correr sean quizás los deportes que más he practicado. La fotografía me encanta, pero me mantengo en un nivel muy amateur (por ahora). Considero tomar una cerveza fría acompañada de una buena conversación como uno de los mayores placeres terrenales. El vino tampoco está mal. Tocar la guitarra, salir a patinar, juegos de mesa... Sinceramente, creo que tengo un espectro de gustos bastante amplio. Eso sí, no me preguntes sobre coches porque no tengo ni idea.

I actually like kind of everything and I'm opened to do whatever is inside my possibilities (physically and mentally), but like everyone else, I have some preferences. Medicine gets my attention (for obvious reasons), I really enjoy watching movies and reading (but I don't have enough time for it as I would like to), basketball, martial arts, tennis and running are maybe the sports that I've practiced the most. I love photography, but I stay at an amateur level (by now). I consider having a cold beer while having a good conversation as one of the most enjoyable things in this world. Wine isn't that bad either. Playing guitar, skate, board games... Sincerely, I believe my hobbies spectrum is pretty wide. But, don't ask me about cars, cause I don't have any idea.
