About Me

Anthropology student, have been studying in Coimbra, Portugal for the last semester.

Main interests are reading, travelling and music. I guess you get that a lot around here...

Have already travelled most of the Americas (South America mostly, though have been to Mexico and New York recently), mission has been Europe for the past 5 months. One place I really look foward to get to is the island of Crete.

Books and tea + not really into what modern life has to offer + nature is a YES + music is constantly playing in my head + first time Couchsurfer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Frank Zappa, Neil Young, Dylan, CAN, The Doors, The Stooges, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground, Pescado Rabioso, Os Mutantes, The Clash.
More recent acts include Jack White, Fleet Foxes, Flaming Lips, Radiohead. There is also an awesome band from Argentina called Pez worth checking out.
Basically was raised listening to The Beatles.

Started getting into movies very recently. Enjoy Kubrick, Godard and Galubert Rocha. When people start name dropping movies in a conversation, it's most likely I haven't seen any of them.

Books: just finished Salinger's Franny & Zooey - check it. If you can read spanish, read Robert Bolaño. Shakespeare & Borges, of course. Huxley. Simon Reynolds. Mircea Eliade.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once lived in a boat that went up the Ucayali River (Peruvian amazon) for 5 or 6 days, dropped me off at Iquitos. You sleep in a hammock and get to watch the landscape slowly transform into dense jungle. I find it hard to believe myself but at the time it seemed an awesome idea to me apparently.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yeah, I'd like some of all of that, please.
