This profile has been slightly out of date for quite some time so I figured I'd refresh it.

My name is Juan, originally from Colombia. I started travelling back when I was maybe 14 or 15 as I toured the country while playing videogames, I guess in short that's what started me into traveling, implicitly too, I guess.

When I turned 19 or 20 or something like that I decided to quit my education and go travel, to this day I haven't finished my bachellor in physics and mechanical engineering but I am actively seeking for the possibility to achieve this goal in a scandinavian country.
I learned about this community through other fellow travellers and as I travellered further this community has shown to be great, kind and very helpful. In a way, I am still building so that I can provide, this meaning that I may not always be in a possition to host for the time being but if I can, I will make sure to let you know.

Unfortunately my living style is very nomadic whilst I'm abroad and the stability of one place is something I don't have for long periods of time, leaving me with very little possibility to host for the time being but when I can, I will do so wholeheartedly simply because I understand how tough it can be and how weary a traveller can get.
I don't really expect anything from anyone but myself, so this has made me relatively chill, calm and understanding, if I can not often provide a place to crash, at least I can provide a calm environment where anyone can be who they are and feel comfortable about it.

To date I have already actively travelled for the past 8 ish years and have learned a great deal of things ranging from agriculture to construction and from child care to elderly assistance, among others.

I have yet to build boats and fish in open sea, I want to see trolltunga and I want to understand myself better so that may be I can understand others better. Couchsurfing has given me much insight in the very many differences that makes us diverse in culture, thought, looks and behaviour and thus rich as species.

I want to give, because this makes me rich, I find reward in others' joy.

I think most of the things bellow have also stayed, but I would be lying if I said it's all the same because we are dynamic by nature, we change for better or worse, but I believe we never stay the same and that experience and consequent knowledge shape us a great deal.
I may be able to give some advice here and there if asked but I am very fond of live and let live and all that jazz, you know.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Itagui, Antioquia, Colombia. A part of the city to the south side. I always wanted to share with other cultures and people, I like to socialize a lot.

I like traveling, I have never actually left my home (edit, I have traveled now) country but I've traveled to a few places within the country and I'd like to take it to the next level, I'd like to move across countries now. I'm a studdent of college which means I have no income other than what I can work for wherever I am, I'm just trying to open myself to the world and get as much experience from others as I can, I'm sure it'll help me some day.

My passions include sports and physical activity, Nutrition (healthy eating habits) and reading. Also writting and drawing.

PHILOSOPHY

Smile every day, be happy with yourself so that others can be happy with you too.
Learn, learn, learn. You only grow old when you stop learning things!
Everyone has something important and worth to share. Learn from them!
Be like the old greek who worked not only their minds but their bodies as well, be a whole.
I have 4 pillars in my philosophy:
1. Reading, cause it fills you with ideas and enhances your thinking.
2. Writting, because it makes no sense to have a bunch of idea without order.
3. Drawing, because everyone is born an artirst and even tho I can't really dance or sing well, I have other ways of expressing such human behaviour (art) by drawing.
4. Excercising: Because to be a whole I need a healthy body and mind. I love outdoor activities.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love to go out with people who come to my city to show em' around and to learn from them too, Medellin is a great experience. Likewise it's very interesting to communicate and discover with others while traveling to all destinatioms!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in several places now like Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, Turin and Milan among others during my trips throught EU. Everything's been great and I've had amazing hosts I've met wonderful people from whom I've learned lots and I'm really thankful to every single one of them.

I enjoy learning and teaching about physical activity and sports, I love physical preparation, I can share spanish and english! Also healthy eating habits, some "Colombian cousine" jk more like Antioquian but you get it and also I enjoy talking about pretty much anything constructive there is out there, sciences are of uttermost interest to me.
