About Me

I am asian-chinese born n raised in Singapore. I got married and relocated to Germany 25 years ago.
Now that I'm done with bringing up kids and single again, it's about time to slowly tick off my bucket-list destinations and to enrich myself with travel-adventures and to meet nice friendly people all over :)

Traveling makes us richer in all aspects of our lives! Live life with no excuses, Travel with no regrets! This is a quote from Oscar Wilde I once read and it's so true! Now I am learning to live by it :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend once introduced me to the CS site way back in 2011. She helped me set up my account , but with an almost empty incomplete n photo-less profile! Back then, I hardly have the chance to travel with raising 2 teenage boys and I didnt really care much about traveling. When we do take a fam vacation, accomodation mode will always be hotels or airbnb. It was last summer 2018 on a road trip in Spain that I overheard the word COUCHSURFING from a group of young travelers in a tapas bar next to my table. This made me remembered I once joined this platform and this was also how my CS profile became *alive* again!! Not only reviving it but also introduced it to my now adult boys to join the CS community! And in Jan 2019 we had our (was traveling with my younger son) very first cs experience in Florida! It was an indeed an awesome experience ...how welcoming, kind and hospitable they treated us :) Am so glad to have shared this wonderful experience with my boy, and now I am making space at my place (either my living room space or sharing space in my son's room) to start hosting surfers! Really looking forward to my first hosting and to do my best to share the CS spirit :))

Couchsurfing is a great way to learn, share and experience cultural exchange!
What's more, CS is the best way to interact with the locals and to truly experience their way of life, the best way to meet people from all over the world, hang out and share true stories n experiences, create new lasting friendships and share happy moments ......that's what hotels cannot offer and money cannot buy, its priceless !!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I remembered some years ago backpacking in northern Thailand in a remote village, the local villagers were so warm and welcoming that I spontaneously extended my stay to volunteer and help those poor but truly happy villagers to read write and learn simple english words and phrases. The older adults were mostly deprived of basic Thai education, let alone English! And the village-kids too were not left out....I taught them the ABC song so as they can memorise all the 26 alphabets in the right order ! It was indeed a meaningful and rewarding experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Mandarin, Cantonese*Yue*, simplified chinese characters in writing, German.....whatever thats within my ability , my pleasure to learn and share with hosts or surfers! Or if you wanna learn the ABC song, I can teach you too!!!
