I grew up in a small town between Cologne and Aachen (which is close to the dutch border). Back than I already was hooked on traveling, learning other languages and getting to know different cultures.
So after I finished school I spent a year as Au Pair on Cape Cod in the USA. This was definitely one of the most exciting years of my life so far, because I got to see so many different places and met a lot of great people who I still consider my friends!
Back in Germany I started studying Medicine in Berlin, which is one of my favourite cities (actually it's always been a dream to live and study there since I first visited Berlin). Please be alerted that I am really into all that gross stuff, that medical students usually like and tend to go off about how interesting the human body and all its function is.
But no worries my life is filled with plenty of other stuff (sometimes maybe even too much, but I like to be busy). For example I danced for like 15 years before I went to the US. There I somehow found out that running isn't that boring after all and did my first 5K. I still do jogging to keep in shape for my newfound hobby Lacrosse. I play Lacrosse for a year now. So as you can guess I like sports, but who doesn't?!
Apart from that I love to stroll through the different parts of the city ( or go by bike ), meet up with my friends in cafés, bars or parks, read a book, watch a movie and so on (I would say I am also a kind of person that is up to pretty much anything as long as it doesn't go against my morals or anything like that).
So yeah. What else? My personality! I would say that I am friendly but always honest, mature but still crazy, most of the time considerate but spontaneous too....Sometimes one "side" may outweigh the other. In general I would say that I can get along with any type of personality!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

For me Couchsurfing is about getting to know the person I am staying with and through this, getting a more realistic impression of the area I am visiting (and not only the touristy stuff- which is also nice!). I would love to find a host that also wants to share a part of his or her life with me. Likewise I am looking forward to hosting travelers that would like to spend some time together, instead of just finding a cheap place to sleep.

Music:
I pretty much listen to anything I like, but I definitely prefer rock-alternative stuff before the regular charts-music. My favourite bands are: The Strokes, The Kooks, The Killers, The Fray (yeah I have that thing with these bands that start with "The"), Clueso ( a german singer-songwriter), Parov Stelar (if you don't know him-listen to the music!!!!) and Florence and the Machine....
Books:
I prefer fantasy, comedy and crime thrillers. Nothing fancy, e.g.: Harry Potter, The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones (didn't finish the last book yet, so no spoilers please), The Black Magician Trilogy, Starte for Ten, Slam by Nick Hornby, Jeffrey Deaver, Tess Gerritson and lots of love stories for light reading in between.
Movies:
I somehow like movies with Hugh Grant, because he is kind of cute. Plus, I really love french movies, because they can be really funny, but at the same time they make you think about life like "The Intouchables", "Hunting and Gathering" or "Serial (Bad) Weddings". Apart from that I watch a lot of romantic comedies, that girls usually like (but please no Nicholas Sparks-I think I have a serious trauma from watching "The Lucky One" with Zac Efron). Other movies I really liked are Whiplash, Silver Linings Playbook, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, The Best Exotic Merigold Hotel, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, Moneyball, Catch me if you can, Inception, Matrix .....

Last summer I went canyoning on Corse- it was a hell lot of fun and something I would do again anytime!

I could teach a bit of cooking ( i am not awesome at it, but I like to do it!), maybe Lacrosse, sewing... pretty much anything I can do by myself ;-) Actually I am an aerobics trainer and did a little bit of pilates, too - so maybe we can do a little workout session together!
My next project is to properly learn the guitar. I started back in school, but I only tought myself and I can only play by (not to hard) chords on ultimat-guitar.
