Winter/spring 2018 not hosting unfortunately.

If I got to choose a citizenship one day, I would like to be "European". I have traveled a lot throughout Europe, lived several years in Germany and France, a few months in Ireland and have moved to Northern Sweden in 2010. I love that we share many things in Europe but that there's a large diversity of culture, languages, landscapes, foods.... My friends are from all over the world.

With my work as a researcher in plant biology I am traveling quite a lot, also outside of Europe. I enjoy discovering new countries. I dance Balboa and Lindy hop and have started to travel to international dancing workshops. Whenever I travel for work or for dancing I am amazed how connected people are at these events. However different we may be, we always have at least one thing and often many in common.
I love when people are open-minded, tolerant, fair, helpful, curious to new things and when they don't hesitate to give a helping hand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet the locals when traveling and couchsurfing seems to me the ideal way to do so.

And also welcoming visitors to Umeå is a pleasure to me. I have had lots of friends visiting me in Umeå since I moved here. I would be happy to give also other people who want to discover Umeå a nice place to stay at and provide you with tips of what you do here so very far in the North. Depending on my own schedule and your wishes I may even be able to show you around or to take you to some places.

You have best chances to get access to my couch if you contact me at least 3 weeks ahead of your stay. This however doesn't mean that last-minute never works.

Interests

Work as a researcher in plant biology, spending time with my 3 yrs old daughter, dancing (Balboa/Lindy Hop), sewing and other handycrafting activities, music (playing flute and mandoline), gardening, baking, chocolate making, learning languages, discovering cultures.
