About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see, to learn, to understand, to experience, to teach.

ABOUT ME

Funny, inquisitive person. Love learning anything new, friendly and trustworthy. A people's person but not a night person. Prefer the city to the beach, and can't stand the sea, the sun and the sand. I speak a few languages and am quick at picking up new ones.
For a living I teach English at college, do some translations and accompany business guests from abroad. My pet niche in teaching English is technical English - which I teach at factories, garages and workshops.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. I don't wave my personal beliefs and philosophies, and I expect the same. Religion and politics are very sensitive issues for me, so I never get into religious discussionsand and will not discuss politics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The guests I had so far were charming, very interesting and a pleasure to have.
I expect my guests to be decisive and responsible about their arrival and not to make me change my plans in order to host them, and then not come. Please inform me if there is a change of plans or if you can not come.

Interests

Very interested in ancient history. Love reading and discussing different cultures and customs. Not into loud music or disco, prefer the theater, sometimes the opera, museums and historical sites.

Music, Movies, and Books

books: Harry Potter. Historical novels.
Music: Frankly, I prefer a quiet atmosphere. But I can appreciate Opera, classical music, Jacques Brel, Edit Piaf, Queen.
movies: Henry V.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing place I have seen is the Taj Mahal in India. Pity that in order to get there you have to travel in the dirtiest and least pleasant country I have ever visited...
London is my favorite citiy (so far), but I had my moments in Germany along the Romantische Strasse on the Rhein when I stayed in a fortress built in the 11th century.
I have also fallen in love with New York City. The size, the energy and the vibrations of this great city can not be comparable to anything else.
I have been traveling alone and independently for the past 15 years, and it is the most suitable way for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an M.A. in Ancient Jewish History. But it actually encompasses the whole of the Middle East, from Babylonia via the Phoenicians, Ancient Egypt and the Mediterranean Basin. I will gladly discuss history, cultures, and writings of these ancient peoples and nations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an interesting person, a good listener, love to cook.
