About Me

CURRENT MISSION

don't worry be happy - hakuna matata :))

ABOUT ME

Well, I don't know what to write about me; most people tell me that I'm fun and most of the time an easy going and joyful person.. but I think you can judge yourself, when you get to know me...

At the moment I am graduate interpreting student in Vienna and will finish my Master's degree next year!

PHILOSOPHY

Generally I think you should always look at the bright side and always look for the good in people. I think that makes life just easier.

Although I have to admit, that my friends, who often tell me that I am way too optmistic about certain things, sometimes are right: if you believe in the wrong things or people or simpy are too positive about everything, you can also end up hurt an disappointed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have been hosted twice, although that was already 3 years ago, but my experiences were very positive :)

I haven't had the opportunity to host anybody yet as I moved into my flat in April 2010 and was too busy finishing my Bachelor's degree to think about a more active participation in CS...
...during the summer and winter holidays I was basically never in Vienna, because I was traveling...So obvs didn't have the possibility to host :(

Anyhow, I am more flexible now, although my studies still take up a lot of time, but you can always contact me and I am trying to gain more CS experience this summer :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Same like above obvs... :)

Interests

I am starting to feel like I am filling out some online dating thing or something haha - seriously always imagined those sites to be like that :D

Anyhow, as everybody here, I think my favourite thing in the world is travelling... If I had tons of money to spend and all the time in the world, I would love nothing more than traveling around, exploring the world and meeting new people.

Although that doesn't mean, that I do not love being at home, reading a book or watching TV series or going to the movies from time to time

I think there are a lot of interesting things to do in Vienna and if I wanted (and had time) I maybe could do something different every night.

But, yes the question was what my interests are.. so to sum it up:

reading, music, going to the cinema/theater, trying out new recipes in the the kitchen, traveling, dancing, swimming aaand - although that might sound a wee bit geeky: boardgames with friends can be fun sometimes too

Music, Movies, and Books

Again I think it is very difficult to just sort out some movies, books or music you like, because all those things are changing all the time and there are only some "all-time-favourites", that will never be pushed aside by new favorites, but let's just start:

- Soloalbum, Die Standesbeamtin, Robert Zimmermann wundert sich über die Liebe, Stiljagi, Piter FM (sorry only german and russian movies so far :D), The Notebook, Hotel Rwanda (horrible film, but very good), Juno, 10 things i hate about you, 500 days of summer...

- Current favourites (as I have just seen them at a festival): Patrick Wolf, Nada Surf !!
BUT also: Noah & The Whale, The Vaccines, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Clickclickdecker, Kettcar, Mediengruppe Telekommander, Carla Bruni, Кино...

Books: That always changing - currently I am reading a book by David Foenkinos called "La Délicatesse", - a very light and funny french book;
All-time-favorite always was and still is (embarrasingly) the Harry Potter sequels - just too good to be true :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last Summer I have been to East Africa - Kenya, Uganda and Zanzibar! I was a volunteer at first and then travelled around...

The 7 weeks I have spent there were by far the most amazing and rewarding travel and life experience I have had so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure that I can teach anybody anything, but I think we can all learn and grow from our experiences and because of each other...
