About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people from all over the world and make best friends in all different countries and to share my experiences with those from other cultures and communities. I love trying different things, I am extremely outgoing and I am unafraid of the new.

ABOUT ME

I am 19 years old and I like to have fun whether it be watching movies or going to clubs. I'm a college student at Tulane University. I consider myself a very intelligent individual with a bunch if different perks. I love traveling and being completely carefree, if there were a way to make money doing that I would. I am great at learning languages and I've been an exchange student and have already seen much of the world thus far. I love playing and teaching myself to play various musical instruments. I am a professional Scottish Great Highland bagpipe player, a professional ukulele player, and I love playing piano trumpet and many other instruments. I love meeting new people and making new friends and my dream is to meet a person that would throw a dart at a map and go literally anywhere with me and do anything.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to see what's out there. As someone so young I have a unique outlook on life that gives me a different perspective. My goal in life is to see everything that's out there in this world we live in. I want to learn to love in different languages and to just be completely passionate about one thing. I don't want to live the rest of my life cooped up in one place, I want to get out there and see everything there is to see, to take risks. I think everyone should live like this. I go to school so I can get out and support my wacky and wild antics, not to settle down and set up a career. There's too much out there to sit still.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by constantly hosting exchange students at my house, and staying at houses in other countries.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As an exchange student I welcomed dozens of individuals from various countries into my home and have stayed in many different countries with some of these people. I have never formally done this and believe that Couchsurfing is just a new, different, and easier way of meeting and connecting with people.

Interests

I love music, concerts, playing musical instruments, and just surrounding myself in different and new things. I can have fun doing almost anything with anyone and I am extremely outgoing and social and am unafraid to try nearly anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies include District 9, any Studio Ghibli movie, and the documentary Inequality for All. I will watch anything and give it a chance though. I listen to Beatriz Luengo, Blink-182, Sigur Ros, Of Monsters and Men, and a bunch of other random types of music including techno and punk rock, literally anything. I love reading books like Mountains Beyond Mountains, the Israeli-Palestine conflict, Teddy Roosevelt the Wilderness Warrior, and many other inspirational books. I love reading travel guides and language books as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done in my life was the summer of 2012 when I was in Madrid as an exchange student. We were in the center square, there were 10,000 people around us and I couldn't understand a word of what people were saying around me at that point. When Spain eventually won that game there was a moment of silence and the people started running around and I was caught up in the moment of it all and I ran with them. I jumped into a fountain and people were spraying champagne and hugging eachother and I just smiled. For that moment I was the happiest I've been in my entire life.

Teach, Learn, Share

This means to me what my entire philosophy is based upon. I travel to assimilate myself and to share my own experiences with others, learn about their experiences, and being able to tell others about these experiences after I've been through them. I love doing what will create the best story, living in the now. Giving that to someone else is something extremely special to me and I love teaching others that the term YOLO isn't just something stupid that the kids are saying but that it's something to follow, a way to live. I like learning from others as well because everything I am to this point is the combination of experiences I have learned from others. I think that Couchsurfing would be perfect for me to learn the way others think, to teach the ways I think, and to share with others. That's something special.
